when doing donkey kong with leaves, there is a way to prevent ur blocks from burning to fast, its kinda hard to explain it in text, but you essentially place an extra block towards u infront of the left lava source block you should have already blocked off once u finish the staircase, once you place it you can immediately break the block and it should prevent all burning, hopefully I explained it well, if not, I can provide a visual if needed
