I work like a dog , but when I get in my car ( bumblebee) it runs , looks , feels so good! It's the only tangible thing that consistently makes me feel this way. Lots and lots of factors go into the cost of owning one of these cars, and then maintaining it. I have a 2018 2SS, got a great interest rate, payments are around $620/month (put down $5k). I have a weekend insurance plan since the Camaro is not my daily - it's a pleasure car. Due to the insurance package I have, insurance on the camaro is $94 a month (that's including a multiple car bundle and discounts because I've never had an accident or gotten a ticket - though I've been close on the latter!). Tire costs can range from $900-1500 for all 4 tires, but very dependent on the type of tire. I only drive mine in warmer months and I drive it hard so I ball out on good tires - the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 are pretty good. Expect the oil change to be around $100. If you can do it yourself you'll definitely save some bucks. Lastly, it is a V8 and a thirsty car and so fill ups are usually around $40 for me - that's using premium (93) at around $3.20/gallon. Also very dependent on how you drive the car. And yes, premium is recommended in the owners manual. If you're looking into buying one of these, my advice is do your research on costs and maintenance costs and shop around for both the car and financing!!! Most people just walk into dealerships with a baseline price in mind and no other prepared knowledge. By doing that you are shooting yourself in the foot! I walked in knowing everything about the car and its financing and was pre-approved for loans with incredible interest rates. The salesperson I was working with legit panicked because they never met someone so prepared - also, it took an hour of phone calls to their banks but the dealer actually beat my interest rate with a lower one through one of their banks. That never would have happened if I wasn't prepared. Moral of the story, I love my car, it's worth the money to me, but I am a very smart shopper, owner, and driver. Moral of the story, do your homework before signing.

My main worry will be tires, but my point is this cars are affordable you just have base the decision on if it’s a smart one for you. If not grind until it is!

I have a convertable RS 2017 red lol. insurance was around his mine is lower now under $180 full coverage in california. oil change roughly $70 but i buy all my stuff and take it to my certified partner who does mine. car note is just about right but he has an SS and a V8 plus credit prices milage on car varies of course on the price of a note. Gas hell no lol this brotha does drive a lot lol i'd go crazy if i ever spent anywhere over $125 on gas. he does say he drives a lot and aggressive so it makes sense. nice review bro takes a lot to put your business out there to share.

Nice car. I will say $100 for an oil change is ridiculous. Synthetic oil costs $2-5 for (5-7 quarts) more than conventional and involves the same process. With these beautiful cars I suggest looking at doing it yourself for $24-30 vs paying $80-100 every 2-3 months. You get virtually a free set of brakes with the savings every 2 months or a free set of tires every year. Great video though.

@@NigelDRealest I can promise you there's no simpler thing with more benefits you can do to your car. The bolt to release the oil should be hand tightened not too tight. I've seen shops not adhere to this by being in a hurry etc which can cause damage to the bolt, oil pan, engine (Just ran into this last week with the GFs car). Bc it can take some time, declaring who the responsible party is could be a wild goose chase. Then we fit the bill. If you have or know someone with a older car not being used, disabled, you can practice on that car. Greatly beneficial.

If you get it brand new off the lot then you don’t need to worry about maintenances on the car, got a 2020 convertible SS and I don’t have to pay for any maintenance whatsoever. Only $751 car payments and insurance is $257 and obviously the gas every week around $40-$50.

I have a 2016 2ss Pay 432 a for car payment and 350$ for insurance ( since I’m 19 ) and waste around 40-50$ a week for gas and around 900$-1000$ for 4 set of tires once a year . Oil change is about 70-80$ (changing your own oil saves money ) . Brakes and rotors vary depending on quality. I bought a whole set of power stop rotors and brake pads for around 500$-600$ no quite sure . This car is a little pricey to maintain but totally worth it .

Just FYI, I think the safe driver discount is a gimmick. I am 46yrs old, PERFECT driving record. I had a parking ticket in 2012. Have been with USAA for over 20yrs.. and for full coverage on a 10yr old car (2013 SS) I pay $178/mo. When I ask about the good driver discount they tell me that's included. It's like when you see something for $100 in an ad and next to it they have a $200 price with a slash through it to make it look like you are getting $100 off using them. They create their own price to make a discount look like a discount... I should have the best rates of anyone I know for about any car I want to drive....and I keep hearing people pay around the same regardless of record. I live in Oklahoma....

2010 Camaro SS. 25 cents a mile including premium gas, Michelin tires and maintenance. Car washes not included. Probably 30-40 cents a mile if you account for the 20k mile air cleaner, 50k mile trans flush and diff oil change, 100k mile O2 sensors, radiator and brake flush etc.

I got a 1LT (not to be confused with the LT1)which I CAN THEORETICALLY "afford" if I want to end up like my man in the video (no offense). All my savings will to go down the toilet. I traded in a 15 Optima Turbo because even if you put a tune on a fwd "sport" sedan all of the power is down low and it was basically a burn out machine that couldn't put the power down, and the turbo worries: OMG that's $4000 to replace. So when I drove my 2020 Riverside Blue 3.6 6 speed manual and felt that 5.1 to 60 and Car and Driver got 13.8 @ 103 mph in the quarter mile. It blew the Optima away. My payment is $335 a month with 2.5% financing with $92 with Geico. I do not drive much but when I "pick up" a hot lap on the beltway maaaaan- there are cars that are faster but 7200 RPM in a 6 cyl with 335 hp (maybe 340 with the K&N intake but I like the growl! (I am 50 years young) I use K&N filters only. This time I used their kit...but only because it is sealed. I HATE cheap "hot air" intakes in cars that actually make less power and pick up more dirt in the filter. Stick to an OEM sealed layout. 👌 Anyway, I have power seats, cruise, climate control, remote start, Cool stuff like ability to set a "speed limit exceeded" alert in the menu at 69mph...and it did come with a HUD system.. Stabilitrac, but no bose so I added a 12" powered Pioneer SEALED sub for that extra thump, tinted the windows, bought a Chevy Brembo kit (4 piston front and rear) and the best deal ever: $150 for an RS/SS style bolt on spoiler with another camera on the rear view mirror. basically. So...I spent $26,500 on the car and another $1200 for "the look"...20" stock gloss black rims with the stock tires off a wrecked 2019. $500. Look I have great credit BECAUSE I hunt for deals. I can't figure out how to add an HD picture of my car, but after adding $30 Torque Ceramic coating it's so shiny and believe me...340 hp is plenty if you want no tickets since 2014. I have had this car at savage speeds, and I can tell you, the rebuilt Chevy brembos are the best investment ever. Stock brakes on the 3.6 SUCK if you want to play SAFELY. -Chris
