What I love about this video is that it shows that drawing is really a process of successive approximation. It's so easy to think that others draw the perfect line from the get go, that they never use an eraser. No, drawings grow organically with marks added and taken away. Another lovely video, Myriam.

I really enjoyed seeing the whole process from start to finish. It can be disheartening only seeing the outstanding finished products from artists. Then I look at my canvas and just... *Sigh*.... After the fifth time of erasing a characters hands - I'll want to screw it up and throw it in the bin. It was inspiring seeing the process from conception, knowing it takes time and patience, even from talented people like yourself. Your voice is very easy to listen to and the editing of the video was enjoyable. Thank you for sharing it.

I love this! I love the concept, all the possible layers of meaning for meditation. I was surprised by the edition of the snake but I feel it works well too. Like others who commented on the timing with the Amazon fires and climate change in general, i doubt this piece was originally intended as commentary on that but, on that topic and a broader application, we do seem to be good at starting things we think are a good idea and having them blow up in our faces. The unintended consequences of our ambitions is my personal take away. Thanks for another remarkable work and a wonderful video documenting your creative process.
@myriamtillson

The Amazon fires reference is completely involuntary since I created this before I even heard about them, but I can definitely see why you guys would think that! Maybe it was something in the air...I;m glad you liked the video, thank you!

awesome video :) Myriam everything you do in your process never ceases to amaze me, I loved watching this piece evolve into yet another amazing piece of art. I find it encouraging that you to struggle at times with aspects like the hands, rather than seeing something drawn perfectly first up and have all the errors edited out. :z I hope that makes sense and doesn't come across as a bad critique, it's 4.30am in Sth Australia so the brain's not fully awake hahaha. I just also have to say watching your process videos and listening to your thought process is really inspiring for this wanna be surreal artist :D

Hello, Miriam. Has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like a young Leslie Caron? She was a beautiful French ballerina and actress who played with Gene Kelly in the movie “An American in Paris” many years ago. She also played opposite Fred Astaire. I don’t know if you are familiar with any of these old time actors, but if you aren’t maybe look them up and see what I mean? I’m just an old lady that loves old musicals and watching your videos you reminded me of Leslie Caron. Anyway, I do enjoy your art and videos. I don’t understand some of the symbolism in your work, but I do like your artistic skill. Thank you for sharing! 😊

Hey there ! I've never commented on your channel before but I'm an invested but silent follower of your work if you will 😁 I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy watching your process, as an art student I struggle with finding a pace that works for me and doesn't burn out my creativity too quickly because of the many assignment deadlines. I tend to spend too much time on the sketching and planning and the many iterations of a painting or drawing and often end up with unfinished work, even though I try to plan out my steps, it seems like I can't finish anything and want to refine every step of the way. Would you maybe have some advice or have you ever gone through something similar ? Anyway, thanks for showing us an insight into your life as an artist, it's very inspiring and educational all at the same time !

For some reason I watched this video up until the final few minutes where the finer details were put in (probably because my dogs wanted to be fed, :)) ) . Just got back to it some days later. I don't know what you were thinking about in the concept, but for those of us who have lost friends in bushfires and live under the constant threat of fire in the summer, this one is particularly poignant.

Interesante, pero muchas palabras, para mí el silencio es un valor importante. Sólo los vendedores usan el verbo para aturdir.

You seem to be a very sweet person. I cannot see the point of a drawing/painting like this, although I enjoyed watching the process. I have always been afraid of fire and its painful and harmful destructive nature.

To me this represents the spiritual reality we all are living…. God says "My people perish for a lack of knowledge"… God is Spirit, and he says he resists the proud. Without Him, we will not understand spiritual truth. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, and that is a gift of the Holy Spirit. So, if we are living apart from Jesus ( God in the flesh) and the truth of this battle we are in, then we unknowingly will be led by a different spirit altogether……Call it creativity or imagination, among other things, but without a foundation to reign in the ideas we create and we can be led in wrong directions… Sure we may do it for the sake of artist freedom/expression as our foundation and reasoning to do something…. But that is a life that is oblivious to the greater picture, the greater reality we are a part of… So, we contribute more to the ways of a broken world, often regardless of the message it reflects and sends to others.... I often see artist reflecting something dark, this kind of death to a human, burning away, and the serpent ( Satan ) seems to be around quite often. Although anyone can interpret an image many ways, in light of the truth of God and our limited time on Earth and what really matters, it is something that I hope you may think about in the future. God is loving, but also is just and we will be held accountable for the path we choose. He wants all to be saved for eternity restored, but we have to decide to learn about Him and what is true, to renew our heart and minds, to understand things more clearly and turn away that which exalts itself against God, the only truth that saves us for eternity.
