Chase actually doesn’t do a hard pull for credit limit increase. I called and increased my freedom unlimited and i had to unfreeze my credit as well

Stay tuned for the next series called "Issuer X denied me a new card - stating they've already extended me the maximum amount of credit". At some point you will reach an area where you will be denied for having huge credit limits - ask me how i know!

Yup large profiles, large credit lines expose people to too much credit which some banks frown upon. My answer find another lender and take the approval elsewhere and don’t look back. If I tried to please banks for their approvals I wouldn’t have an ever growing profile! ✊

@@shawn.credit I guess what i meant was a total available credit. If you have access to $400k in credit and make $90k a year you’ll start getting denied - by everyone. And then what’s the point.

@@LukesPointsandMiles True that, it’s best to grab the cards you want early and evaluate if you really need so much available credit. You can always call a few banks and have some cls lowered but even then it does not secure an approval. The Venture X has a lot of data points with folks denied for too many accounts best to secure this card early in the credit game.

CJ! Great video as always. Just to give you a heads up - Chase will not do a hard pull, but they do need the credit report un-frozen to conduct a fresh "soft" pull. I have done this before with them. Those who don't need you to unfreeze are those who are doing their review on an existing soft-pull :).

I have the same experience with Chase approximately the time when Spencer released his video. Luckily my report was locked and I did not get a hard pull.

Great run! To be fair to you, the credit companies in general seem like they are tightening standards for approval and increases. Citi recently denied my CLI for my DC.

Oh lawd I’d be too scared of getting financially reviewed haha, and would rather just not deal with it. Hey CJ! Good video and congratulations on your increases! I wanted to share that the venture x wouldnt be opposed to increasing your credit limit even though you just received it not long ago. I asked for my credit limit increase while in the phase of obtaining the bonus miles. I increased my limit from 15k to 30k. Hope this sheds light on your doubt.

Discover is pretty generous with cl increases with some decent spend on their cards. I grabbed two cl increases in less than a year on my first Discover card! Discover and Amex are my favorite banks their customer service is unmatched imo.

You didn’t call Chase recon. I requested CLI on my CSP and they doubled it but I treated the CLI just like a new app and called recon and asked if it was eligible for recon, they said yes and sent me to an underwriter. They didn’t hard pull me, they checked my file, asked me a few questions and approved me. I waited 3 days between denial and calling recon FWIW.

Credit history is more important to Chase. If you’re new to credit, then a bank account with Chase can help your approval odds for the Chase Freedom Rise card. 👍🏾

I have an AMEX cc. I spend $1000+ every statement date, i pay it off as soon as i receive my statement. I also have a credit limit of $25k initially and never had a limit request. Is it good to request for $30k limit? Or $35k?

To be honest, it doesn’t sound like you need the extra credit limit. It might be a good idea to get another card that comes with a decent welcome offer since your spend is $1k+ per month. That’s up to you though, keep in mind that credit scores tend to drop a bit (the amount depends on your history) once a new acct is reported.

- ive seen dps suggest once you start requesting limits @ $35k+ you become vulnerable for a financial review. It also depends heavily on your income & assets.
