Hey there. I want to say first how much I appreciate having found you on KZbin. Thank you so much for sharing your hair routines and knowledge with the rest of us. I am an older girl and of mixed heritage like most Americans with Africa (the Ivory Coast) being one of the continents some of my people hail from. I am part Native American and European American as well. Like the history of this country. I had a mother who was raised in the country on a farm and a tomboy when she was young and a country girl and tomboy at heart. My hair was always frizzy. It seemed as far back as I could remember. But there are pictures of me as a baby with flat straight hair and then something happened. No one had the time to find out just what was needed. Four girls later my mother worked hard to make sure we all got enough to eat. My father's mother would come over and her waist long hair was curly/wavy and she would smooth it down every morning with water and put it into two braids on either side of her head with a silk scarf covering it all. I remember hair washing days with all the soap, no conditioner to be found. The painful comb outs, the greasing s and the hot combs and being burned more times than it should have been. I used to experiment as a child with water and a roll on my bangs and it worked. But this was a time when people practiced "children should be seen and not heard". My mother didn't know and she did not think to listen. And how much do we really know someone even when they are so close to us, there may be extenuating circumstances. Finding out who we are as individuals is a journey in itself. I have learned more things and to do it better and better over the years. Being kinder and taking the time, and listening. Here is my heritage all over my head wanting and waiting for me to discover. I don't need that grease or hot comb. More water please. I have watched a lot of KZbin videos about hair. You and a few others I always come back to. Yes you are right it's o. k. to listen to others but it all comes down to what your hair loves and likes. Thank you again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂

ok your hair I absolutely love it and it's my length goal! I'd like to give you an advice... after you wash and deep conditioning hair I use to apply a nuts of argan oil or any oil for shinning and smooth... and a silk press liss serum than I add also heat protectant because I think is never enough with it and than hair dryer hair. when you will start blow and flat the result belive me will be amazing... shinning and smooth. and when I'm finish with it I put again a bit of argan oil again mostly on ends and edges!🙄

Beautiful! I'm a s curly girl, thin fine curls, the shrinkage is real. I blowout and flat iron once in a while. Love you technique, I've seen it but never used the pass through with the comb. Does heat protectant really protect the hair? Your hair is gorgeous. Love the laters.✌🏼

I've been natural for a while now but I just don't like to do my hair because it's so thick and I have a lot of hair like yourself...... have you ever had heat damage from straightening your hair?? I haven't flat ironed my hair in a year and will be doing so tomorrow only for about a week. Should I be worried?

+GraShawna Briscoe Anytime you put direct heat on your hair, there's a chance of heat damage. Just be sure to use a good heat protectant and also make sure you don't use a heat setting that is too high for the texture of your hair. When you go back to curly, be sure to deep condition and you can even use an elasticity treatment to help your curls bounce back😊
