Stretch marks are mostly hereditary, but lotions and such can help keep you skin moisturized and aid in stretching♡ I can't wait to watch your journey through pregnancy! I've had 3 babies and it's such an amazing thing.

Strivectin SD. Trust me! It works. I didn’t feel like cocoa butter worked. Especially if you are prone to getting stretch marks. Strivectin even reduced the stretch marks I had on my thighs. They’re almost invisible now. Yes. You have to use it everyday to work! It’s expensive so I found it at Marshall’s and TJ Max for around $25

I also used the Nordic Naturals DHA! I recommend the Prenatal Ease brand of prenatals. Very gentle and they have different stages for each trimester. You may be experiencing nausea if your prenatal is in one dose, the high concentration in one pill can make you nauseous. Congrats !

Hi Carli! Hope you’re keeping well! You are absolutely radiating and glowing (pregnant or NOT)! I’ve been a fan for many many years now and it truly makes me happy to see how far you have come! BUT, I must add something important that you need to know. I am currently a midwife in the UK and I have seen many new mums-to-be purchasing their own sonicades (doppler sounds). I would not recommend you use it IF you do not have any medical background. The device picks up MANY different sounds within the internal body such as: your heart beat, baby’s heart beat, the umbilical cord whooshing sounds and the placenta pulsating. All of these things sounds differently even though to someone who is not medically trained to use one may think otherwise. It is difficult to distinguish the sounds of what I have just listed above and it can be dangerous. One of my patients came to me one day saying “I haven’t felt my baby move today but I checked for the baby’s heart beat and it was fine”. I listened in to the baby’s heart beat and also did other examinations and sadly, the baby had passed. The mother may have thought she heard her baby’s heart beat but in fact it may have been her heart beat or the other factors I have listed above. Unless you know someone who is medically trained to be using this device, please do not attempt to use this on your own. It can be extremely dangerous. 08:11 - this is not your baby’s heart beat. This is your placenta pulsating.

So, obviously continue to care for your skin as best as you can, but stretchmarks are genetic/hereditary and if you are going to get them, you're going to get them no matter what you use on them. I was religious about applying that exact same tummy butter, plus I also used Bio oil on another mama's recommendation and I still ended up with stretchmarks on my tummy. :( I did everything I was supposed to do (not scratching my stomach, not putting on too much weight (I only gained 20 pounds total), and keeping my stomach slathered in tummy butters and lotions, yet I still got them. My doctor had told me from the beginning that no amount of creams or butters will prevent them. Some people just naturally have more elasticity in their skin thanks to their genetics and they can literally skip putting on creams and STILL won't get them, while those of us with less elasticity in our skin WILL get them no matter what we do. :/ Luck of the draw really.

Bio Oil worked MUCH better for me than the Palmers lotions. I highly suggest adding bio oil into your routine. I got some stretch marks on my thighs and 2 on my tummy from my first pregnancy (I only used Palmers during that pregnancy) and the Bio Oil helped fade them sooo much. I used Bio Oil for every pregnancy after that and it helped prevent any more stretch marks!

Hi Carli! I highly recommend Seeking Health Prenatal. They are a bit pricey but based on all of my research it is the best on the market. Definitely look into it. As far as makeup I love the brand ILIA. They only use natural ingredients that are safe and free of toxic chemicals unlike some of the products you use. So much of the makeup we put on our skin contains parabens, sulfates, synthetic ingredients, and fragrance which alone can contain over hundreds of chemicals that do not have to be disclosed to the consumer. Best of luck on your pregnancy. I think its a girl.

@carlibybel your body will obviously change along the months, is to get a good moisturizing body wash. I used Dove Sensitive Soap :) ALL THE OTHER BODY WASHES I DID NOT USED. IT IRRIATED MY SKIN DURING PREGNANCY I have two son's now. When I had my last son oh boy I had super dry skin and yes I drank a lot of water! I actually would suggested those big bottles on Amazon that have the times on the bottle. Get used to a lot of water especially if you do planned on nursing !

I love that tummy butter! I use that and rosehip oil. You can find the rosehip oil on amazon as well. So I put the rosehip oil on first and then the tummy butter on top. I also looked into those prenatals but I went with Ritual which you can order online.

Giving birth April 18th as well to a little boy . I use burts bee belly butter . Smells great and not waxy or oily. Zero stretch marks with my first pregnancy. It applies so smoothly its the best . I gained 30 lbs total, had a c section. Scar is completely faded.

Carli I have 4 kids and let me tell you oils/butters do help you stay moisturized but the only way of preventing is to gain the weight gradually. With my first I gain 40 lbs 😬 and with my last 3 I only gained 15 pounds bc I took care of the extra calories. One oil I recommend is jojoba and rose hip 😊

You shouldn’t be only gaining 15 pounds during pregnancy unless you were already overweight before pregnancy. If you’re at a normal weight it is not healthy to only gain 15. Don’t hurt your baby because you’re insecure about your body.

@@mariahr8595 you actually only need to eat as much calories as you do when your not pregnant. obviously a very good nutrient dense diet and you only need more calories when your breast feeding. so weight gain is irrelevant unless your malnourished
