My Dad Finally Goes Home After 23 Years!

Nobody knew that my dad or I were going to Mexico, this was a huge surprise for everyone and I am so happy to be able to show this moment of my life with you guys.

I cried the whole time🥺 my grandpa passed away in 2017 (my dad’s Dad) I went to Mexico the year before he passed and got to meet him but my dad never got to see him again. When I saw your dad hugging your grandpa that made me so happy for him I wish I could’ve given that to my dad. I’m a mess… 😭😭😭 I visited my moms hometown for the first time in 21 years this past January and it was this emotional. My grandparents travel back and forth but they hadn’t been able to get my mom back down there due to her struggles with anxiety and depression. I felt everything you said about feeling safe and the joy of being surrounded by family. It was the most at peace I had been since I was a kid with no care in the world. I’m so happy for you and your dad. For finally making it down there and being able to see your grandparents which is the most important thing 🫶🏼🥹

This video really got to me, when you said that you didn’t have family back home in Texas I knew exactly how you felt because I also have all my family living in Dominican Republic. I always feel home sick even though my home is in the US but if I could pack everything and live in DR in a heartbeat I would just so I could be around all my family and feel at the peace and comfortable.This video got me tearing up at 1 am. Such a special moment and so happy for your pops that he had the opportunity to go back 🫂 I went to Mexico for the first time ever by myself in November, I met so much family & seeing the area my parents grew up in was so bittersweet. My last day and night there was super emotional since I did not want to leave my primito, it was our first time seeing each other after 15 years, we got along so well and he was basically the brother I never had growing up. Our tia when she left us in the airport, she told me, “give this huge to your mom for me”, hearing those words shattered my heart on the spot. My dad has not been able to go back since 1994 and my mom came to the US in 1997. Leaving and saying goodbye to your loved ones is so hard but on my trip I learned a lot that I will never forget. ❤️‍🩹
