Thats called a career, not a job. If you like what you're doing and make good money off it, why not stay until you're ready to retire? Seems like you've never worked a day in your life or have only held shitty jobs.

2stepracing he's making a shit load of money. Why not stay for 35 years. No companies give out gifts like that anymore. Except for multi billion dollar companies like Halliburton

I remember when I opened my first Rolex box, it was quite an emotion. And you don't experience that everyday. Congrats to your dad, he looks like a nice decent man and I'm pretty sure he deserved it. May he wear it in good health.
@ryangraves24008 жыл бұрын
People are fucking idiots. The very fact that your dad has worked there for 35 years, and that the company never let him go is amazing on both ends of the scale. Yet people still have the nerve to say, "ha a rolex, you made that company way more money than a rolex." Do you know what other companies give to their co-workers after 35+years of loyal working? A 30 day notice to go find another job... Congrats to your father!

So much nicer to see a guy like this get one of these and actually appreciate it, compared to all these rich kids you see unboxing rolexs as a fashion accessory with no idea what it actually would mean to go out there and earn one.

Congrats to your dad. It's great to see a company appreciate their emplyees. I just purchased a date just II as a Christmas gift to myself. I love it, love wearing it, and look forward to many years of enjoying it. Tell your dad to get a watch winder for when he's not wearing his Rolex.
@stuartpeete31305 жыл бұрын
Darrell Tuttle good advice I wear an old datejust thunderbird from the 90s and love having the watch winder for days I’m not wearing it
@Tobi-cb7vb4 жыл бұрын
Why put it in a winder and put all that unnecessary wear on the movement? The best thing one can to to a watch when he’s not wearing it, is letting it rest. Just keep that in mind.

Beautiful! I'm truly happy for your Dad, he dearly deserves it. I'm glad to see that some companies still do really nice things like this and show their appreciation for years of service. Sadly giving extravagant gifts like this for years of service has become almost nonexistent with companies these days. Your Dad will enjoy this lovely watch for many many years. The DateJust is the iconic Rolex in my opinion. Your Dad made the perfect choice. May he enjoy it to the fullest! It's an absolutely beautiful timepiece! A Rolex can last several lifetimes if taken care of and serviced every 10 years or so. Congratulations to your Dad on making the 35 years and his beautiful gift! Your Dad seems like a very sweet kind person. My thoughts and prayers go out to him.

Congratulations - Even though that company let him go I have to pay my respect to a business that still gives there long time employees a genuine Rolex as a anniversary gift. It shows class on the buisness and respect for the employee. A fine Swiss timepiece is a great gift to mark a special event in someone's life and career. This Gentleman truly has earned this Rolex and I hope he wears it proudly then passes it down for the next generation of his family to wear - And I hope the tradition will continue indefinitely. Just remember to get it cleaned and serviced by a reputable and highly skilled watchmaker that uses 100% genuine Rolex parts approximately every 5 years or as realistically needed or warranted.

In the UK, most companies don't ever reward employees. I worked for 45 companies, held several Management posts and was never 'rewarded' for the insane effort I put in. We got a good staff discount, but that was really it, certainly no comms, bonuses and no nice watches.
