I've got the Wispa, it still does make sound in the room, but it travels WAY less. And more importantly, it doesn't vibrate through walls.

What I've noticed with the wispa is that the best effect is playing without the surround. The sound from the board travels through the surround, onto the system and then into the wall. So although it is quieter in other rooms if people say they can still hear it late at night etc. just take the surround off

It is a brilliant product. Lots of people talk on different platforms in a negative way about it but they havnt used it. I've had it longer than anyone I know of and why would winmau put their name to something second rate and claim that its the quietest system in the world if it isn't..... listening to the noise of mindless opinionated uneducated people causes annoyance more than any dartboard
@vulcanus30Ай бұрын
The question is not so much about how much it reduces the decibels in the same room, but rather whether the sound is transmitted through the wall to the neighbors. Therefore, if the dartboard is more separated from the wall, the difference for the neighbors is like night and day.
@DavidLee-te2oz3 ай бұрын
My neiebour could hear darts on normally mounted board throughout his entire house. With wispa he hears nothing in the next room exactly the same as a stand that i was having to use. I used a decibel meter on my phone placed 2 rooms away. The darts could clearly be heard on the wall but absolutely no response from the decibel meter. In the room directly behind the darts on the wispa could still just be heard as a gentle tick. Compared to the normaly mounted it was over 75 percent quieter. Same result as using a stand. I have given my stand away and can play at night.

Before you pay 80 odd quid for this, fit some underlay to the back of your board. It fills the gap and takes out the boom effect. Worked for me and my neighbours. Have you tested the karella?

you won't need a Wispa if your board is setup on a darts stand lool if your board was setup on the wall then yes you can use one as i have a Wispa and its on the wall.
@Sharkfin1803 ай бұрын
About 4-5 months ago I decided to move my setup from the other side of my room next to my neibours wall but not on my neibours wall. I started playing at about 10 o’clock at night and played for about an hour. The next morning I got up and started playing again and then I heard a knock at the door. The old prick from next door was standing at the door questioning the tapping/ banging noise which he could hear that was “driving him nuts”. He Reckoned it was disrupting his and his wife’s sleep and they were struggling to sleep with the sound of the darts. I had to get a wispa which cost about 80quid and I assumed this had solved the problem so I started playing again. But I was wrong it hadn’t solved to problem I was still getting complaints so once again I had to move the board to a different wall.

@@Sharkfin180 oh that’s very interesting. I guess it depends on the type of wall. Also my Mormon friends don’t use that room all the time. I can imagine if it was backed onto a bedroom it would drive them insane

@DavidLee-te2ozАй бұрын
Remove the board change the position of the pulleys using the colour guide and hang back on. Easy
@wilks1878Ай бұрын
If you notice the back of the board, there's a bunch of different holes of different colours, and you just rotate to a new colour and put the mounts into the matching colour and hang it up. If he was smart, he would have drilled pilot holes in all of them when he installed it so when he moves it, he doesn't need a drill.

I tried all sorts and tested. Underlay does reduce the noise a bit but the solid bracket connection still transmits lots of noise. The wispas suspension system is massively better
