Honestly this conversation was about Ava first and Manoj Bajpayee the actor much later . And he had me in splits … talking about Ava and mimicking her . Right down to the last one - calling him Dad in front of her friends . He is so real , human , humane and of course such a brilliant actor . He is a rarity . 🫶🏼🌟🌟🌟

I know hindi because my parents spoke in Hindi at home. Anywhere in the world people know their mother tongue when immigrant parents speak their native language. Beti ko hindi nahi aati ye koi bhut achhi baat to nahi hai. Baharhal, it's a language at the end of the day. What matters is being grounded, humble and a nice human being.

She's a 12 yr old, it's not a big deal. And as he said, she's getting tutions as well. I think for Manoj ji , he's a affluent Hindi speaker and his bar is high, maybe she does speak Hindi but it won't be as refined as her father.

Well I guess it comes down to, do they only speak with her in English ? A lot of kids don’t speak Hindi, but do speak their mother tongue, gujrati, Tamil, Punjabi etc.

Lovely interview Janice, Manoj is so down to earth and relatable. As a parent of a 13 yr old it's so relatable. My daughter too at the age of 9 or 10 she had created a KZbin channel and Instagram account, I did not realize until friends told me, then I had to uninstall Instagram.

Sabse bada issue jo fasaa hua hai - Hindi pichar ke actor ka interview English me kyun hota hai. I mean I am quite proficient in English and have no problem whatsoever in interpreting the language … but Hindi bhasha and bhaashiyon ki izzat aur ki jaani chaahiye!!!

So True. I have been to CHINA and everyone there only speak CHINESE and yet the country is so ahead of us in every way. They are proud of their culture and language even young people there eventhough they know English they won't speak they would be like speak in Chinese and we will reply.

I loved the interview… loved the way you make your guest comfortable.. ❤❤ but why go out of your way to demean their choices.. I mean we get it, that it one can have different taste for the cinema and one should express it .. but that does not mean that you go out of your way to underline how bad a film was… especially when someone who is part of the project is present.. They know why they did the film, and what is the response, no need to keep on saying it.. kinda is redundant and unnecessary, only because the person receiving this feels uncomfortable..

yaar yeh itna disingenuous lagta hai, "omggg aap sabzi laitay hain... omgg mujhay dekhna hai...olmg" it reflects on how disconnected the interviewer is more than a reflection on how down to earth the star is.... that's how i feel about it

Big hug to Awa. I hope she never sees this interview and that she is spared of the public ridicule for not being fluent in Hindi, just because it shows her father, a Hindi film actor who predominantly speaks in Hindi, in bad light. She is not a public figure. There was no need to share this tidbit out there in the public. There are several benefits to children learning local languages and one's mother's tongue - ease of mingling with peers, relatives, making friends easily, brain development etc. If it was so important to Manoj that his daughter learnt Hindi, he should have tried to teach her earlier. I just hope this form of public shaming does not scar her for life. I think very highly of Manoj s acting talents. Maybe he just needs to work on his parenting skills.
