I was always nervous about school in person, didn’t have a homeschool option then, but once I got started I loved it. I think trying school in a different country would be fun. Different way of teaching, different classes, and experiences. I think she should try it for at least a semester or whatever their grading periods are and really get a feel for it. That way she can tell her siblings how it is.

If I, as a child, had moved to another country with my family, I'd be THRILLED to go to school there and experience the new country, the culture, meet new friends and a different school than what I was used to. I'm not saying any of the kids are wrong to wanna do homeschool, I'm sure you're hepling them make the best decision for them! It's just funny to think what would be my biggest dream at around the girls age, was to live in the UK and go to school there! I even tried to convince my parents to send me to boarding school 😅

One of the best things about public school is making new friends! I’m glad Evee chose public school, I have been going to public school since Kindergarten and I am going to be in 11th grade. Going to public school in a different country sounds so cool.

If I was a child who moved to another country with my family I'd love to go to school there and experience the new country, culture meet new people, make new friends and just start the journey from scratch. Honestly Evee, in classrooms not everyone is at the same level someone children understand things faster than others whereas other children may need examples and take longer to understand. I think she does want to go to public school but needs a nudge and reassurance that everything is going to be fine. I still think that Evee should at least go to public school for 1 week or 1 semester as a trial to see if she likes it, maybe being at school and sitting in the classroom might change her perspective.

I thought so. Evie has been the "independent" one. During some of their fam competitions vlogs, she was the one who would always be the first one to lose. She wasn't really into it anymore. She might really wanted to go to public school. but the parents' and the sibs' vibes were kinda negative. separation anxiety perhaps? that's why evie changed her mind... if she got the full support and sincere support, she would've tried it...

Honestly I think going for a day maybe even a week would be a great idea. Evie would have met new people and experienced something new. Maybe she’ll love it and want to enroll. Maybe she’ll join the soccer team and make friends with people from all over the school. She’ll never know until she tries plus she’ll have nothing to loose. She can make friends with the kids and keep them even if she decides not to stay. She’ll have learned how the school works and know if she’ll ever what to try again in the future. Good luck Evie and I really do hope you enjoy it even if you don’t go back ❤

Public school is a great experience. Also it could boost your confidence of talking and meeting new people. Over all it’s just good life skills. It’s always good to try new things well you still can.

Most school's in Britain should have an experience called a taster day where your child can experience what it's like to go to school there and what school life is like. I'd recommend doing it for all your kids cause they may not know what school is like in Scotland compared to America and this gives them a taste of what it would be like and help their decision more. Obviously if they really don't want to give it a try they don't have to but it would really help them more and even able them to befriend some people for the future for if they actually decide to join! But obviously it is you and your children's opinion but this really will help them properly decide :)

The grey pinafores are for primary kids. Trousers or skirts for high school in the Uk. White blouse (usually not polo shirts) a tie and a school sweatshirt or blazer is most common!

I think if you as a family already made that super big decision to move to another country (which is the biggest decision ever) then I would have gone to public school. as then it would make the experience of living in another country even more richer in getting to learn new people, getting. to learn a new culture everything on a much more deeper level I guess. As of staying homeschool it feels like staying in your comfort zone/family bubble and maybe missing out on some experiences with being outside of the home in school ... but I do understand that is also easier for kids to stay with what they know 🙂

Public school is the best thing for kids, you meet all kinds of people and get introduced to the real world and how it works rather than being cooped up and isolated from the real world , it helps them grow and learn and become independent and strong , ready for the real world and the reality out there, school isn’t all sit at a desk and not talk , you interact with other kids and do group activities most of the day. It is is so nerve racking at first but completely worth it

Honestly, it's a bummer that shes not wanting to go to public school anymore because it would've been a good experience for her but i also think she should do whats right for her. Its great how she was the only one to say she wanted to do public school out of all her siblings. I think she should try do a class like science so she can actually see what a scottish school is like. I think she should try it x One thing though her uniform is like primary school one, Im from Glasgow and most people wear white shirts, black tights and a black tight skirt x Obviously I have no idea on that specific schools rules but most schools in my area wear what I listed x If she goes back to public school places like Quiz have really nice school skirts and jumpers x for shirts I always used Asda or tesco xx Hope she has a great school year regardless of what she chooses xxx

evee as someone who spent her last 5 and more years in public school and then because of covid ended up having to miss 2 years of public school and had to do homeschool I actually missed public school and schools have different levels in every lesson like higher or lower in any subject so it doesn't matter if your worse in maths and better in a another subject it does not matter and yes while I was home schooling I was in my pyjamas but when I got back into my uniform I felt better then ever. and in another school you won't have many friends or anything its about making new friends and you can see them everyday and maybe grow better friends with more people. and public school might seem horrible and over crowded but it doesn't matter as long as your learning and doing work that's all teacher actually want. and now 5 years later I am in a college studying a course I love and that's all because I did more work in public school then I actually did in home schooling and yes home schooling you can look at your phone and watching KZbin videos but public school is only helping you get a better education then you do. so it doesn't matter where you are at in your lessons and yes in science you might learn more than one thing but its something to always have because you never know when you will actually need it.
