The questions: 1) its called shouting, not growling ^^ oh and edit: difference between shouting and growling: Growling is deeper and mostly slower, shouting is obviously higher and can be seen as a modified "clear"-voice but with growling elements in it. i hope i described it correctly ^^ 2) yes, do the popular monster! 3) and the lyrics are written by ronnie himself. mostly even the instrumental parts.

First time viewer! Love your energy (and the “dad” humor and your daughter’s reactions to it 😂). Definitely have her check out Popular Monster, and I’d add that you two should check out the trilogy they released last year. The three songs tell a story, and they’re worth hearing/seeing if you haven’t already: Losing My Mind, Losing My Life, Drugs. Popular Monster sort of follows a similar story but it’s not actually part of the trilogy. ✌🏼❤️

So I was thinking about how to describe the vocals and answer the question you guys heard about it. I think the best way to think about it is that what they’re doing with their voices adding “distortion” to it. So there are different levels of distortion, growling is like the highest level of distortion. But then you have what Ronnie’s doing here which is more like screaming or yelling but adding distortion on top of it. So it’s not exactly growling but he’s using the same technique that growlers do. He’s using a similar technique but doing it with much higher notes. If you want to hear another great example of vocals that are like that listen to Devin Townsend, he is one of the best singers in metal, his versatility is incredible and his distorted notes get so high it’s really impressive! I’d recommend listening to Devin Townsend - Deadhead Live at Royal Albert Hall

To be honest this is one thing that has quickly made falling in reverse and Ronnie Radke very popular so quick. This man is constantly switching up his flower in the video during the video. He re-imagines original work. And has gotten Coolio from Ganstas paradise and Corey Taylor from slipknot to feature in his videos. Which were other things I didn’t expect. His songs and videos go into left field and at the same time they’re relatable. He mixes screamo. Rapping. hip-hop. electronic. And metal altogether. And he likes to throw in that 90s vibe. No doubt he’s a 90s baby as I am. He is in his 30s I do believe..

The way Ronnie makes fun of this song on his livestream is hilarious. He hates the lyrics to this but is thankful because it paved the way for them to do popular monster because of the rap/rock blend. He writes pretty much everything lyrically and instrumentally. In his interview with SDR he said he writes at least 90%. You really can’t put them in a genre since they genre blend so much but for purposes of music charts (billboard, iTunes, etc) they are generally considered rock/hard rock.
