Congratulations on March 8 - Women's Rights Day! February 28, 1909, was first celebrated in the USA on the initiative of the Socialist Party of America as "National Women's Day". Now it is called "International Women's Day".
This year, March 8 falls on a Wednesday, the day should have been a public holiday, but the situation changed due to martial law. Although no one has officially canceled the holiday, Ukrainians will not rest, but go to work.
Currently, several draft laws regarding the postponement or cancellation of the event have been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, as an alternative, it is proposed to celebrate the Day of the Ukrainian Woman on February 25.
Before making this or that decision, they decided to take public opinion into account. Recently, a vote was held in the Diya application, the results of which showed that the vast majority of Ukrainians are in favor of keeping the March 8 holiday.
The soloist of the band Los iankovers Yanko is of Ukrainian origin (his mother is from Kyiv, and his father is Colombian), he was born and grew up in Colombia, after 2013 he learned Ukrainian, became fond of old Ukrainian music and now carries Ukrainian songs around the world with his musical friends from Colombia and Venezuela. The band also performs mixes of Ukrainian, Latin American and Italian music! Ianko's full name: Ianko Bogdan Peñafort.

My native mother, you did not sleep at night,
You took me to the fields near the village,
And you accompanied me on a long journey in the dawn,
And she gave an embroidered towel for luck.
And you accompanied me on a long journey in the dawn,
And the towel is embroidered for luck, given to fate.
Let a dewy path bloom on it,
And green meadows and nightingale groves,
And your unfaithful maternal affectionate smile,
And your sad eyes are good.
And your unfaithful maternal affectionate smile,
And sad eyes are good, yours are blue.
I'll take that towel, spread it out like fate
In the quiet rustling of grasses, in the chirping of oaks.
And everything painfully familiar will come to life on that handkerchief:
And childhood, and separation, and true love.
And everything painfully familiar will come to life on that handkerchief:
And childhood, and separation, and your motherly love.
