Sausage, egg, chips but no beans ... for me lol. Looks like a nice little venue. We have some gorgeous country pubs in Cheshire but most of them have been 'gastrophied' and everything is ridiculously over-priced.

As soon as you took the photo of your meal and I a saw the blind of ketchup on top of the fried eggs I had to stop watching. Sorry Jane but it's not to my liking. BUT carry on with your great Fylde coverage as I love it. There used to be a famous "Chiipy" in Blackpool called Heskeths when I can Art Student at Blackpool School of Art. The meat and potato pies were our staple diet, cheap but tasty.

You can get cheap food or you can get good food but you can’t get both anywhere. If you want nice food at a reasonable price then this fits the bill. If you want cheap go to Weatherspoons on the other side of the tram line

The best way to do chips is by frying in very hot beef dripping or lard. Some of the best chip shops even use peanut oil...but this does make chips more expensive. Chips are not as nice if fried in cheap veg oil or sunflower oil.

yuk - we used to use lard when I was a kid. It repeats on you for hours afterwards.

In the end I think it was nearer to £5 - I was chatting to them when I paid, never took any notice of what she charged me and didn't get a receipt. Shocking attention to detail!
