I have added amazon links in the description for the parts I used for this project. These links are Amazon affiliate links and If you buy from them, it helps out the channel. Thanks as always.

Well done Tom!! This is the beauty of the hobby! Thank you for sharing! There are so many guys who are willing to try their own DIY box… but there are 100x more people who would rather just buy a box from the others. Keep up the great work! Thank you for all of your help on the Arduino.

For me Marty and I also think for you, Its all about the pursuit of knowledge and then the sharing of that knowledge with others. I am so glad there are others out there willing to produce these types of things for people who just don't want to risk burning things up.

Great video Tom. Been waiting for someone to make a video like this. I will definitely try to do this in the near future.

Great video Tom, thanks for the massive shout out, I love the trick reusing the plugs so the chips can swap out easily :)

Thanks Dave, after seeing your conver box video and how neat the inside of your box is, I decided better of showing a picture of the inside of mine. Mine is nothing but a mess of wires. 🤣

Now that Im considering going to Analogue all these vids are popping up. Must be the universe telling me to do it lol. Great Job, hats off to you sir.

Do it Joe, why wouldn't you want to have the best of both worlds ? :)

Yes, what Dave said! I was so scared in the beginning of destroying my track but I have had no regrets.

Great video, I built a more simple analog /digital box and I'm thinking on several improvements after watching yours and other similar videos.

Hi Tom, I followed the tech bit easily enough but struggling to undestand how you code the lanes with the button. Please can you explain that a bit or better yet a short video to show us :)
@tomsidener6 ай бұрын
you press the button (on the conversion box for the lane you want to code) and then the lane programming procedure is the exact same procedure you use when programming a car. It is just like there is a car sitting on the track. Here is a good video on how to program a car. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpyXhISHqKqZo8U You can also program speed, and brake just like a car. Make sure you have fuel off on your head unit because it will let your chip run out of cas but you have no way to get into pit lane to get gas.

Hello Tom, thank you very much for this great video. I'm going to build my Box and I have two questions: - what section of wire do you use for your box, the track power supply by the Carrera CU is 18AWG (0.82mm²) I used 22AWG (0.34mm²)? - what position should the Carrera 20020763 decoder switches be in? THANKS

This is the wire I used, I am sure it's overkill. This link is through my Amazon Associate account so if you buy from this link, I get a cut. Otherwise you can just click on it to look at the wire to see what I used. The switch should be in the digital setting position (not the analog). www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BX8P5T5H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=thomassidener-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=b93c9244e2a486db1c44530af06ed3e3&camp=1789&creative=9325
