_My Dinner With Andre_ (1981) kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIeVmnmneMx1nqc _My Dinner With Andre_ is a movie where a smart man (Andre Gregory) is speaking to another smart man (Wallace Shawn) about ideas. The two men are members of New York City's intelligentsia in real life and really used to talk about things like this. The gag is Abed is supposed to be the Andre Gregory character but acts more like Wallace Shawn's character during their exchanges. When it gets emotional rather than esoteric Abed begins to break down because he doesn't have the equipment to handle it. It's also a bait-and-switch because Jeff was only there to bring Abed to his Pulp Fiction themed surprise party, while Abed had created his own M.D.W.A. surprise party to interact with Jeff.
