Very nice Disney laserdisc collection. The Black Hole laserdisc you have looks cool. I have just bought a couple of Disney laserdiscs, Aladdin and Bambi. Ive been collecting Disney laserdiscs since Lion King came out in 95. I also have Hercules, Toy Story boxed CAV set and Hunchback of Notre Dame. I only just picked up my old laserdisc player from my old place at my mums and had forget how much I love laserdiscs.

+SSlovebird I picked two wrecked ones up out of the parking lot and it was like finding a treasure chest. I have wanted them since I first found them in a Goodwill at 9 (I'm 18 now). I'm kinda like a laserdisc fanatic, even though I only have two movies and no player. At least I'm not alone.

For The Great Mouse Detective, was the different logos only on the laserdisc, or did that affect the VHS tapes too? Also, not to sound like an ass, but Beauty And The Beast is from 1993. WDHV feared that a laserdisc (which had no copy protection) would fall into the hands of a pirate, so the work-in-progress laserdisc was released in 1992 alongside the VHS. The laserdisc releases of Beauty And The Beast were held over until 1993. Aladdin did the same thing, waiting until a year after the VHS release to release the laserdisc.

I have: The Lion King (regular CLV edition) Toy Story (regular CLV edition) Beauty and the Beast (CAV version) The Hunchback of Notre Dame (CLV version) The Little Mermaid (1990 Black Diamond Classics version) Muppet Treasure Island Oliver and Company (rebuying due to my copy having the video glitch out a lot) Aladdin (Deluxe Edition) Plan to get: The CAV versions of Lion King, Toy Story, and Hunchback Hercules Pocahontas Sleeping Beauty Pinocchio Peter Pan 101 Dalmatians Jungle Book Alice in Wonderland Lady and the Tramp Robin Hood The Rescuers The Rescuers Down Under Fox and the Hound Nightmare Before Christmas The Little Mermaid (Masterpiece Collection version) Basically, remaining Renaissance movies, CAV versions of favorites, a few classic Disneys I like, some Dark Age stuff, and Tim Burton. I also have the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition set, but that wasn't distributed by Disney. Star Wars is only owned by Disney.

Unfortunately The Fox and the Hound was never released on Laserdisc in the US. It was released in Japan and Hong Kong, but neither LD release has the English soundtrack.

Yeah, LaserDiscs in general are worth getting. Although I haven't gotten one since last February, but I do intend on getting one soonish...there's just a lot of other stuff I want to get plus expenses.

Are they better than blu-ray? I'm debating on getting Disney films on laserdisc (particularly Cinderella because, I hear the quality is the most pure out of all the editions after it) Some grain on the film is fine, I don't like it when it is completely painted over, so, any help?
