MY DIY WEDDING BACKDROP PT. 2 - PUTTING FLOWERS ON

This is PART 2 of how I made my VERY OWN wedding backdrop ! YUP, I totally did a few DIY wedding decorations for my own wedding and they were NOT easy! I wanted to share all my decor with all of you so here it is. Although it is a difficult diy, I hope you can take some inspiration and ideas from it!

- Base : This difficult was made out of metal at my local Metal supermarket. See the video above on how I made it. IT is a DIFFICULT diy therefore, I am not recommending doing it unless you are ambitious! However, as promised I still want to share all my DIY's I did for my wedding. All florals were bought from Michaels. They were the best quality and deal for me , however you can also purchase some on amazon.

This is so helpful. Thank you, thank you! I’ve been thinking about doing my own and decorating it, but have been stressed about how someone could transport it. Happy to see you started months ahead of time like I will be and glad you showed how it was carried on the truck. I don’t have family nearby so I have to figure out who can take it to the venue and back for me.

yes i was lucky a few friends had trucks! There are very cheap companies that can transport this though :) hope it works out for you!

This is gorgeous! I love this. It is so refreshing to see brides using more faux flowers and doing exceptional diy projects. I love fresh flowers as well, but using faux flowers for some projects makes more sense. I enjoy working with artificial flowers and will be using them for my vow renewal next year. I'm going to try and duplicate this using other materials. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration and congrats on your nuptials.

This came out beautifully!!! We did everything for our wedding too. I couldn't see paying all that money for live flowers and they'll be dead in a few days. Plus we do parties and dinners, so we have been using my wedding flowers for 5+years now. All from Michael's too!

Hi Anna! You can find it on part 1. It was all from the metal store and used very light metals for the base so we can bend them. Flowers from Michaels and cost me around $300 Canadian. You can find more of them now as Spring flowers come in at this time at Michaels :)

I actually just spread the flowers so it looks fuller on the day of the wedding. Its the same amount used in the video though . It cost around $300 Canadian for me from Michaels :)

Hello, instead of attaching the flowers directly onto the arch, could you use a pool noodle to insert the flowers into and then attach it with zip ties?

I just had 2 pieces of greenery from the dollar store that I put at the bottom. The rest of the greens are popping out from the wisteria :)

Who has $410 to put on a DIY wedding backdrop? You could rent a backdrop similar to that at a fraction of the cost. When will you ever use any of your big wedding decor pieces again? Probably never lol I don't have that kind of money to pay for a backdrop like that. It was beautiful though.

as mentioned its a specialty DIY. Made all the money back and much more renting this as well as Ive used it many times and will continue using it, therefore I made it. Needed to share it to spark some info, and these backdrops can cost $700 and up, thanks :)
