"If the players are enjoying something, let it go on as long as they want" is great to hear! All for moving things along when you realise they're going in circles or players are getting frustrated or bored, but it's great to let players just do stuff at their own pace!

As a Tarot and card enthusiast, I highly recommend Tarot for stuff ahead of a game, to help you generate a character or their story! Altought not frequently spoken about, artists, art directors and creatives that are into Tarot do incorporate it into their creative process, so give it a shot! You can do a) make a 3/5/6/9 etc. card spread by drawing that many cards and read each cards meaning from the booklet and work something out from there or b) draw cards and just look at the pretty pictures, colors, symbols and see what story or overall character you can make from simply your interpretation!

My Crits and Fumbles are pretty straightforward. When you roll a Nat 20 for a Crit, it doubles the damage, and I get to describe an epic attack, which is even more awesome if it takes out the enemy. ... As for Fumbles, I see them in two ways: MELEE and RANGED. For MELEE, if you fumble, the enemy gets to Riposte you with ONE counterattack, or if the monster fumbles, you get to hit back. ... RANGED fumbles are a bit more chaotic-your shot doesn’t just miss; it hits something else instead. I pick a cone with the original target in the center, and if it Hits one of the players, monsters, or items in that area. I roll a 1D6 to see who gets hit, and trust me, there have been plenty of times when players accidentally shot their teammates. It definitely adds to the fun, and ranged fighters really have to think about their positioning if they fumble.

Number one DM essential: big ol' bag of dice. ✔ Number two: more dice. ✔ Three: *special* dice. ✔ Love that bag. I used to carry my stuff in a backpack, and/or a duffel bag, or even a cardboard box. And I wouldn't worry about that Boys "ad." Pretty much every DM kit vid I've seen is just one big unintentional ad for all their cool gear anyway. Caught that Coke reference too. Funny.

Ive used the Card Initiative for ever, I like the random and it keeps the players watching because they dont know when their turn will be when I flip a card.

That was a really neat collection! Definitely need to pick up those Tarot Cards. The timer is pretty sweet too. Would love to see more videos from you if you ever find the time.
