I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy; what a wonderful life you gave him. Thank you for sharing his story. I lost my retired racer in March - she didn't even get to see her 7th birthday, and I miss her every day. She was also a gorgeous brindle who never met a stranger and loved the cold. She was my very best friend. For what it's worth, there are still adoption groups operating and importing ex-racers from Ireland, Australia, and Mexico. Our local group gets dogs every 6-12 weeks in groups of about 6, whenever we have enough pre-approved applications. There are also more former racing breeders turning to hobby/preservation breeding. So the greyhound breed will continue to be available - just not quite as easily accessible as before. They really are fabulous dogs.

Aww I'm so sorry you lost your furbaby grey too, it's a really crummy club to join. Your girl sounds wonderful and I think the huskie wannabies would have gotten along. Thank you for the kind words ❤️ I think there will definitely be another greyhound in our future, they are just the most wonderful dogs. Thank you for the tip on the ex racer adoption groups. One of the reasons I made the video (besides just wanting to talk and show video of Dublin) was that racing/ breeding of greyhounds & lurchers is still very common in other countries; and I wanted to talk about what great dogs they are. In general I think people still don't know much about them, assume they are high maintenance or think they look a bit odd. And they are so so wonderful.

What a beautiful dog Dublin was. You clearly gave him a safe, fun home, a rich rewarding life. Many blessings for being such great dog parents. ❤️ My deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss. I know so well how the silence echoes; I think the sound of their footsteps is one of the things I miss the most when I lose one of my fur companions. If, in the future, you find yourself ready to provide a home for another greyhound, check with AKC breeders. Often they will have adults that are ready to be retired from breeding or puppy returns that don’t work out. And for anyone who is interested, check into lure coursing and FastCAT events. These are hobbyist events that let the dogs RUN!

Thank you ❤ The silence really does echo, the worst bit is opening the door and there's no jingle jangle and snoot straight to the crotch. Didn't know how much I really would miss it. We always wanted to try the lure coursing, but hilariously Dublin hated other greyhounds. We had to stop going to meetups because he got so crotchety around the other greys. We think he was maybe a bit of a runt, or maybe when he was sick he got pushed around a bit. He adored teacup poodles and chihuahuas. Anything small that peed in fear of his towering legs positively delighted him.

Oh, Rosika...I am in tears. I am so sorry your sweet Dublin has passed, but glad you and your hubby were privileged to have him in your lives, (and you in his.) Pets are absolutely our family, and our heart just aches, knowing they live such short lives. The memories with your boy will last a lifetime for you. I wish he were there to share the joy of your new home with you...I know you'll think of him each day. Love and abrazos to you, hubby, and precious daughter. He really was a privilege to have, even when he was being a butt. I only ever had a rabbit and chickens growing up, never anything that was allowed in the house. I loved them all and missed them greatly when they passed but he just took up so much more space in my heart. We're planning on bringing his ashes with us and planting them in our yard under a dogwood tree. Good old boy will still get his little piece of sunshine and shade. I've never seen your channel before but I saw a thing on my feet that said my dog died and my dog died not too long ago and he's my best friend and his name is bandito I called him Ditto can I miss him so much 💔💔💔💯

I'm really sorry you lost your furbaby ❤️ It's a really shitty club to join. If we didn't love them so much it wouldn't hurt this bad. And I try to think that he must have really known how much I loved him. I'm sure Ditto knew it too. Hugs and I hope you're doing okay today. The grief is a little less heavy for me every day, but life still feels wrong without him.
