How frustrating, a $13,000 procedure is out of reach for the average pet owner. Hopefully one day the cost declines and more dogs can be helped.

It’s better than paying $17-20k for open heart surgery in Japan, $5k+ traveling and 2 week living expenses at an AirBNB, 1 week post-op care, quarantine for 6 months, being in a foreign country, etc. $13k sounds like a bargain to me!

Hello, Thank you for this video. We've actually had our little dog to see you folks in Cardiology at the UMN. She is in stage B2. Am wondering how many dogs have had the TEER procedure done at the UMN now ... in October 2023? How has the outcome been for these dogs? Also, does ANYONE out there know the long term survival expectation for these dogs, after the surgery is performed?

Thank you for this very informative video! I was told my dog has a heart murmur, but she had a fever and was very anxious during her visit. Is there a chance that may have been the reason for the murmur sound?

Hi Dr. First, thank you for the video. My dogs heart murmurs are getting worse and accelerating on and off the last week(stage 6 now) they are loud. With the exception of swallowing a lot, he seems normal othewise,. He is a 14 y/o chihuahua. What should I be aware of when I take him to the cardiologist this week? He has been on medication for 6 years, Pimobendan and cardalis. Give him omega 3 on food 3 times a week. We are in Italy.
