my DOG turned into a DEMON 👹 realistic NAIL TRIM anxious SHIBA INU screams 😰

Disclaimer: Aoki was not hurt in this video. I have to trim nails from time to time eventhough he hates it. Nail trimming is something we are working one. One session at a time and it is a long road. I will update you on his progression as we go 🙂🫶

ahhh i have a 10 week old puppy and she is a SCREAMER 😭 i’ve been massaging her paws every day but she still hates the clippers. i switched to using a pet dremel and she still hates it but i think it’s way less scary for her than clippers. so tough 😢

Wow tough job! I never tried to trim my Shiba Inu’s nails by myself. I always let the vet do it. Although that would be a great skill to have as her nails would grow back long very quickly. Nice job!!

You are amazing! I once cut a bit much off and it started bleeding. Since then, I'm not doing it! 🙈The groomer does it so easily, but we have to distract him so he doesn't look/see the clippers. It works this way!

Good job! And what an incredible patience. My Taiko is now shedding. Hairs everywhere but I knew this wound happen. Aiko is probably shedding too or will this come later in canada? Thanks for the video. I got yet another tip how to trim taiko’s nails.

We go to vet and one person his holding our shiba in hands and vet makes it kinda quick...last time he was quitet, we go tomorrow again, I hope, he will me more calm each time. Shiba inus are such a drama queens! :D :D

Our Shiba screams while being washed, but not when we trim her nails. My wife figured out that when our dog is sleepy and tired she can do things like trimming without much hassle. Now she is not comfortable with nail clipping, but do not scream or get anxious.

Aoki pants a lot in the bath. he is super stressed but does not scream or barks! I am also working on that lol

try warmer (not hot) water, it helps our shiba inu to stay calmer :D

Yes! I noticed that his back paws are kept at a good length since we get to walk a lot outside now. Although, front ones need a lil upkeep :p

Lol you have WAY more patience than I do. Luckily my shiba likes my groomer and is pretty good for her when it comes time to cut her nails. She doesn't like it, but she'll put up with it. Shibas are so hilarious.

did you train him to scratch only on that paper file? worried about the furniture, he might associate scratching in general to treats.

yeah, the also scratches the door if he wants to go out but that is about it... :)

Yes, if you don’t trim, the veins grow along t’as well so you need to keep them at a reasonable length otherwise they can get torn off. They can hurt you and other dogs while playing

Getting our 4 months old used to the grinder was a pain but the sand paper also does the trick.

Thanks for doing this one Anais!!! Definitely THE hardest part of having a Shiba!! Many of the dog grooming places here refuse to nail trim Shiba's. Going to try this method from your video and would love to see updates as you all progress. Your videos are by far the very best when it comes to positive ideas/suggestions/advice on raising a Shiba Inu.
