My Dog Was Paralyzed Two Weeks Ago... Look At Her Now

How are we helping our dog recover post IVDD surgery? How has Haru progressed, can she walk? Today I'm sharing what happened when we took our French Bulldog home after IVDD surgery, and how we are helping our French Bulldog recover after IVDD surgery and getting her to walk again. This is how we are helping our dog heal post surgery at home with our family. Our hearts were broken into a million pieces, our family still can't believe this has happened to our baby Haru but miracles like this is what we're living for. Today Haru our French Bulldog came home after her first IVDD laser treatment and we are sharing her progress from the beginning until now. Please keep Haru in your prayers.

Haru shouldn’t be out walking. It doesn’t matter if she’s feeling better. She has to heal properly and that takes a few weeks of crate rest. I say this from experience. If she doesn’t heal properly, her chances of it coming back is higher. Remember dogs with ivdd can suffer another injury after the first one.

Having already sought out the best possible treatment for her, my money is on them following the post surgical patient care recommendations of the skilled veterinarian who performed the extremely complicated operation on Haru - what is in her best interests is clearly their top priority. The reason Haru is doing so well is that she has such a backlog of moments with her family when, like Pavlov's dogs trained to salivate at the tinkling of a bell, she knows from long experience that she is safe and surrounded with love. All the patient attention she receives sparks a rush of hormones, which multiplies the healing process. Plus the calm atmosphere and actions of Father are extra beneficial to her not being confused so she does a good job at every session. And her day is full and well organized. A great accomplishment and credit goes all around!

I rewatch this video every day, cheering for Haru and her whole family. Please let us know how when you need more funding for Haru’s treatments, medicines, equipment and furnishings. I worked in heavy construction over 40 years. Beat to a pulp, hit by heavy equipment , fallen off buildings and so on. Never shed a tear. That is a good idea! My doggie chiropractor suggested things like that too. Keep the legs massaged by using your fingertips to increase circulation and the sensations for the nerves to react and start healing.

I had a happy, healthy 5 yr old lhasa apso, a similar shaped dog to Frenchies - chonkie w/a long back and short legs - and after a walk one day the same thing happened. Our vet said that it's congenital and can suddenly be triggered by inflammation caused by movement or impact. She eventually got her legs back with injections and rest but we always had to be careful. She lived to 20 yrs old though! ❤ My very best to lovely Haru and Griffen.

This was very sad. I had the most special boy who had a spinal stroke at 7 years old. It was too late and we could not save him. It was extremely traumatic for me. He also started off with paralysis of the back legs. Watching this made me think of him and how hard it was going through that. I am so happy you managed to save Haru. It is so amazing to see her walking again! I have a Frenchie now who looks just like Griffin, we are so happy that Haru is on her way to recovery!

Every day I wait for an update from Haru. I can't believe the success. God bless the skilled surgeons, the nurses, and most of all you. Getting her home with Griff & Sienna have sped up her healing times 100!! I can't imagine the pain of watching her shaking in pain. Watching her rear paws knuckle under. But again, her progress is stellar! God bless you all. I'm so glad you have the money to afford her recovery room, her water fountain, and all the other countless things you've gotten to keep her comfortable as she heals. At first, I didn't hold much hope for her, but now I'm confident for a full recovery. My senior Frenchie Gabbie has D.M., which is slowly stealing the control in her hind legs. It's so painful to watch her struggle... but she still gets around, she can get up the steps to her "neighborhood watch " bench (her favorite activity), she plays off & on with Luke, my 7 month old, she will go outside to potty if I take her out in time! The incontinence is the worst, when she is gone, I'm going to try to save up for new flooring. She needs help getting up the outside steps, they are bigger than her inside dog steps, but we have a routine worked out, where we both work together to get up to the door. I truly don't know how I will live without her. She has been my constant companion for 12 years now. I got her registered as an emotional support dog, so she goes everywhere with me. The grocery store is her favorite, she meets so many new people every time. She can't tolerate the slick floors anymore, so now she rides in a red wagon! People seem drawn to her, they love to tell us about their dogs, or dogs that have passed away. Gabbie listens patiently, and offers them comfort and an outlet for their grief. I just heard something the other day, a girl told me that getting a dog was "putting grief on layaway". So true!! But so worth it. Anyway, I'm so proud of Haru, and you guys have done a fantastic job giving her all she needs and then some! I don't know where you find the money for all these things, but I'm so glad you do. I may just call on you for help if/when Gabbie needs it. My sister says to put her down, but I believe as long as she can still get around and get up & down her lookout bench, she still has quality of life. I believe she will tell me when she's ready. All my love & prays for continued recovery!!❤❤

Haru is such a trooper. She follows you back and forth just because you tell her too - you can tell she doesn't understand that you are exercising her, but she wants to make you happy so she does it. Such a sweet girl.

I’m sure your vets have told you, but with all the work you are putting in I look for her to have an almost 100% recovery in 6 weeks to 6 months. You truly saved her mobility by getting her diagnosed and into surgery within 48 hours.

This happened to my boy and no surgery!!! He didn't stop trying, no pain, at least didn't let on, he was back walking 4 months with therapy! This is so amazing to see her pull thru!
