If you own a tri-mode Cycle7, you know it's a disaster, DOA tri-mode toggle switches, unadaptable drivers. Whether it's the new PCBs that were promised to be sold, or the updates to the old firmware, it's like the whole team has disappeared, they do bring out new products like the cycle8, but they also act like the old things never happened! By the way, I think TKD's team decision making is so bad that they actually plan to sell PCBs of the new solution like under support of QMK/VIA after they delivered shitty PCBs instead of just compensating for it.
@nnones4 ай бұрын
@@shiori8969 I have read comments saying that there are problems with some pcbs. My C7 is wired only, with an extra db with circuit protection. Bought from Eloquent Clicks 1 month ago, I built it only with case foam for extra protection from pcb touching the case. Never had any problem and I really like it. This is my experience with this board, no complains so far. Too bad other people had faulty pcbs (read a lot about it in discord) and I agree with you that playing lottery when buying a kb is a bad thing. Mine was fine.

Thoughts on this vs the Neo80? The Neo80 is a pretty stellar keyboard in every regard in my experience, just curious as to how this would top that?
@samuelstewart73394 ай бұрын
Cycle8 is a step above the neo. Neo is still value king since you can get it on u.s. mechmarket for $130-160 shipped while this is gonna be 190-200 capped out at average config.If you have the extra money, cycle8. The ano on cycle is better too

@Nuutt1 mounting styles, and weight? bridge is limited to 1 but cycle 8 has 2 mounting styles (so u can choose ur amount of flex), more plate options as well, the weight from the tkd gives it a “fuller” sound? and last but not least, cycle 8 is a kit, but bridge is pre assembled, i probably will say bridge75 if its ur first custom keyboard!

Hello Lewis and dear Friends of the Mechanical Keyboard Community: I've got a personal question: i wanted to buy my first mechanical keyboard and I am struggling in deciding between 2 keyboards: the bridge75 plus (which I could buy for around 150€ fully assembled and which currently is out of stock, so I would have to wait) or the cycle 8 that you are reviewing in this Video. (which I could buy for a bit less than 200€, obviously not fully assembled in a groupbuy, but would reach me probably in November) I've got problems to understand in pcb options the difference between wired hotswap and tri-mode hotswap regarding the cycle 8. And there is multiple weight options, where some cost more money, but I do not know if they really have a difference except for aestethics. I am sorry for the long question, but I wanted to ask likeminded people and I think it can help me to listen to others opinions. Thank you for reading up untill here and Have a great day :)
@TM-zo1nz4 ай бұрын
Bridge75 is like stock(custom) keyboard, they come assembled, no need to pay extra for keycaps and switches(unless you want to) Cycle 8 is like entry level price into the custom keyboard hobby. You need to pay extra for keycaps and switches. The weight options are mostly for aestethics. I'd recommend the Cycle 8 if you really want to dive into the custom keyboard community, yes, it'll cost a bit much, and you'll need to watch some videos to learn how to assemble it. But I think you'll enjoy Cycle8 more in the end.

@kleinkalibar74864 ай бұрын
@@haddixmarrero7535 Usually customs don't come with instructions in the package but there are either online KZbin tutorials or step by step guides. I would always recommend having lube around. Dielectric grease for the stab wires and some Krytox. For switches you can start with decent prelubed ones like Gateron Milky Yellow Pro. I built plenty of custom keyboards so far and lubing switches is a pain in the ass/not very enjoyable. And there are plenty of decent prelubed options...

@@haddixmarrero7535 For stabs yes, but for switches it depends on what you decide to get. There are so many options for good factory lubed switches that you can just get away with slapping them into your first board and not go through the lubing process, but in the end it comes down to personal preference.
