The kids film you mention may be the Canadian film Young Magician, which is a Tales For All entry, Rock Demers' series of films from the 1980s which also includes Peanut Butter Solution and Tommy Tricker.

Here is a list of quality films Bale has starred in: American Psycho, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Rescue Dawn, 3:10 to Yuma, & I'm Not There. All these films were reviewed highly, check Rotten Tomatoes. Bale is early in his career while Michael Keaton has been around much longer and is much more recognizable, but that doesn't mean he is a better serious actor.

You'll hear John Water reference Chesty Morgan alot. As I was saying, Chesty didn't speak english & didn't realize she was starring in the film. She would get bored & try to sneak away from the set. Doris Wishmean said Chesty was like working with a baboon with boobs because she continually tried to escape the set & all you could do with her was position her infront of the camera & show her what you wanted her to do. Amazingly, Chesty disappeared after making a fellini film & is missing today.

Nice update. Another major advantage that the Dark Knight has over 1989's Batman, is that Christian Bale is a much better actor and much better Batman than Micheal Keaton. P.S. To everybody who doesn't understand why Christian Bale deepens his voice when he is Batman, that is something that the Batman character does in the comic books.

Batman's been adapted so many times over the years there's no definitive version 'cause so many creators have taken a stab at him. Batman--in comics, film, radio, tv--has gone to space and punched aliens, shot at mobsters with guns, battled demons and whatever you can think of. I'm saying it's fine to like multiple visions of Batman. I like both Nolan's and Burton's takes, but my major complaint with both is that Batman is supposed to be a DETECTIVE! He does almost no real detecting in either.

I think that you would be hard pressed to find many people, with an good appreciation and understanding of serious films, that would say that Keaton is a better actor than Christian Bale. He has been around a lot longer and that is all. To check this statement out all you have to do is look at both of their IMDB pages. Check out their filmographies and awards and nominations sections.

The Blu-ray of Home Alone is (to my recollection) the first proper release of the movie here in the Netherlands. I thought the commentary and the making of were new features, but apparently not. And for some reason the cover here is just a standard looking piece of shit.
