I absolutely love the lining you have chosen for the black coat - it's just perfect. Definitely a Kalle shirt for the Rainbow Clouds fabric. As for the so beautiful Paradise Botanic fabric, as to be a dress. A dress that you know works for you and won't go wrong. Wouldn't like to see this fabric going to waste. Love everything you have purchased, you really do have a good eye for fabrics.

So funny watching you explain your reasons for buying fabric. Fabric is addictive and we all struggle with it dont we. lol . I use to make jewellery and do bead embroidery. You would not believe the amount of beads etc I have. I suddenly stopped beading though and they are just sat there. I probably will go back to it sometime but I'm enjoying sewing and knitting at the moment.We are all magpies arent we. Gook luck with the live sew along. I will try to watch. Rachel I had to go to an event at Rotherham NHS Trust and I had to stop off at Waltons. OMG I spent hours there and bought some coating which Mr Walton told me was ex B---- fabric I made it into a beautiful coat and I love it - it is a raspberry colour and I suspect you might have bought it too. I am totally with you on the justification, it is a no brainer and why not. Love your videos keep them coming.

OOOO what a marvelous fabric haul! Caught you giving your sewing room tour! A great space & so we'll organized! My husband passed away last week, we were married 50 years last May. Glorious years, 2 children & 4 grands. I had mentioned to him recently how I wanted to move my sewing room to where my bedroom is now. It's a smaller space than where my sewing room is now and there are no windows.. Husband was in agreement with the move & told me to call our son & son in law to move my room to room. I just watched your Make Nine this morning and your fabric haul this afternoon as I drink a pot of Yorkshire Gold Tea. Those remnants are so gorgeous. I love the amount of fabric in this pieces. When I go through the remnant bin at my local fabric store they pieces are usually less than a metre, so annoying. I think if I had that lemon fabric I would make a long wrap skirt.

I m in love with the Paradise Botanics in black and red, and the cashmere suiting is so pretty. I have a black wool blend and red kasha lining I purchased to make a coat and then thought I should make a toile. I have worn the toile for two years. Am interested to see what you make. Your lining is gorgeous. I thought I would embroider on mine if I ever get to it. On the grey and rust with a light background why not make something with a front placket or band and use the rust. It would make it go so much better with your colouring.

Haha - I fell for the same sale...and made three orders. In my defence I had a lot of birthday / Christmas money given to me for fabric so it would have been daft not to take advantage of the sale. I did do a tally of my denim after and I don't think I'll ever need to buy denim again...ever. My favourite was a length of bronze shimmery denim which is my new 'precious' haha!

I got the rainbow clouds (for a Mélilot or a Kosice) and the same black denim. I can get a pair of jeans out of less than 1.5m so it will get me two pairs of jeans. You could use the denim for a Camden Pinafore?

I love that burgandy flower piece, stunning. You don't have to justify fabric buying, it's your hobby. I've brought 6 pieces of fabric this week, cos I was a good girl and got my booster plus I have the Dentist tomorrow. I was planning a sewing week till I face planted while jogging with the dog this morning 😥 I now have strapped fingers on my right hand, a bandaged thumb on my left, skinned knees and something going on with my right side ribs ( they landed on my elbow ) 🤕 Could of been worse 👌 don't fancy my chances of cutting out anything for a couple of days. 🤣

🇨🇦😃 can you look at the itch to stitch mountain view pull on jeans and see if it has enough stretch for those… they fit well and are a pretty easy make… I’m a beginner and I did good with them and love the fit but prefer the skinny look… I made the love notions octave coat and I love that one! Super fun make!

Make it a low buy instead of no buy year. I did a no buy 'unless it was necessary' last year and did pretty well! I managed to not buy anything until late summer and then a few bits for my birthday in November. I'm doing a low buy year this year! Halloween fabrics are my weakness, particularly Timeless Treasures and Alexander Henry, so that's where allow myself to indulge a little 😁. I think restricting yourself to Lady McElroy is a good call and will help you not to feel deprived of pretty fabric 😁💜

Hi Rachel, it must be catching! I bought my first lady McElroy fabrics in the sale, well it was such good value it would be daft not to (that was my excuse 😂). I too bought the Paradise botanical, when I saw you had it I thought great what is Rachel going to make as I’m not sure. I am toying with the Pattern revival kingfisher or rosella both mix a stretch ribbing and woven they would really show case the fabric and be quick to do. I think Andrea from beyond the pink door was wearing one on one of her lives a lovely original looking make. A totally justifiable splurge imho 🥰👍
