It's honestly a beautiful studio, and you decorated it very tastefully. I especially loved the addition of curtains, the beautiful lamps beside the TV, and the black countertop in the bathroom.

Wow your studio is at at quite nice and affordable! I'm envious that it was built in 1980s, that's considered quite new where I am in New York City! Many many homes here were built before WWII. My apartment building was built in 1925. A studio apartment is at least $1500 here. The prices are outrageous!

I love your apartment 😊,this is exactly what I will need when my I get to Canada... Please I have some questions for you . Would this down town Edmonton, Alberta be a good choice of environment for a teacher (new immigrant)? If yes, do you think, teachers are paid well there? I have been in love with this particular town and I wish to migrate soon. Final question, can you make a video about teaching profession in Alberta (Edmonton to be precise)?

Thanks for sharing this with us Aby. You should consider buying an apartment before mortgage rates start going up. As I am sure you are aware, mortgage rates are at a record low at the moment in Canada. Currently, you can get a 5-year fixed at a rate of about 2.5%. These rates won't stay low for long. Plus the pandemic situation offers the ability for you to negotiate hard on property prices. You can still hold on to the property as an investment (and collect rent) even after you move to your husband's house (very soon in Jesus' name!) 😁
@abysworld3 жыл бұрын
Amen to the husband part 😉. So I thought about buying and a good friend actually got a fixed rate of 1.69% a few months ago ~ incredible.. but, I decided against that because I’m in the midst of a transition and I am not sure having a house in Edmonton helps my transition plans. But... you make a very good point.

Nice video, Aby! One question, does the noise come from the street or from your neighbors? Can you hear them?
@abysworld3 жыл бұрын
The noise mostly comes from the street. Sometimes crazy people, drunks and police/fire truck sirens. Downtown is really noisy. On occasion, I might hear a faint sound from the neighbours but that has never been an issue for me.

Good decision Aby. Living simple life is a good way of having a lot of savings in Western countries and not getting into trouble. I have seen a lot of Africans live very big and compete,...and they get into financial mess. I wonder why you are not interested in getting a small mortgage since you can afford it. The house later become yours over a number of years and you are not helping someone pay his mortgage. Although taking mortgage will sap your savings with council rates, water bills, home and content insurances, mortgage insurances, other maintenance costs etc. It is a good decision though depending on your future plan. Best of luck.
