For those who want a better understanding of the first play: It's based on a kid's book called "Jungle Drums" Basically, a small warthog isn't accepted by the other warthogs for being small, and the other animals don't accept him for being too dull in appearance compared to them. So an old wildebeest gives the warthog magic drums that will grant wishes when played. The warthog plays the drums and the animals that didn't accept him lost their physical traits that made them stand out (Trunks, spots, stripes, horns, plumage, neck). These traits were then given to the other warthogs. Eventually, the animals and warthogs are unhappy with the changes and beg for the small warthog to return them to normal. He does, and in return the animals and other warthogs respect and accept him. You know. The normal story stuff

The book with the jungle animals is called Jungle Drums by Graham Base. Graham Base is one of my favorite authors. He writes and illustrates picture books, but the picture books are really well drawn and written, and there's almost always some sort of puzzle or riddle to solve throughout the book. For example, in Jungle Drums, the old wildebeest that gave Ngiri Mdogo (the tiny pig dude) his magic bongos is hidden somewhere in each illustration, such as in the leaves of bushes or a bunch of sticks. I really like Graham Base books because little kids love the pictures and story and older kids, teens and adults love the puzzles.

​@@blue-hs2jo The littlest warthog, Ngiri, is teased by the other warthogs for being small and because the other warthogs are jealous of the animals across the river with spots, stripes, trunks, feathers, and horns, so they need something to make fun of to feel better about themselves. The animals across the river argue about who's the most beautiful to see who will win the competition of Grand Parade, but Ngiri just wants to make a friend, the animals across the river tease him too. The gazelle/wildebeest gives him magic bongos that when played grants wishes. He plays them and then the warthogs have spots, stripes, trunks, feathers, and horns while the animals across the river are plain. The animals across the river are very upset and don't want the warthogs to enter the Grand Parade. There may be a big fight. So Ngiri plays the bongos again to try to fix it, but this time all the animals get all mixed up, both the warthogs and the other animals. Colors and features (stripes, spots, trunks, feathers, horns) are everywhere, and no one looks good anymore. Ngiri plays one more time to fix everything, now everyone's back to normal. But through it all, the little warthog didn't change, now at the end, no one teases him anymore because everyone else knows what it's like to be different.
