Hi Angelo, Have been following you for quite some time now, and have to say you're becoming an Investing guru for me. I was quite intrigued when I saw on your blog ' Financial Independence' and I would also like to maintain a similar metric. 2) Is there any way of calculating my approx. earnings in a month through he various platforms I've invested in? Thanks a ton Angelo.
@AngeloColomboFi4 жыл бұрын
Hi Vansh, I just replied to your email, sorry about the delay :) I'm happy that you like my stuff, just please don't make me your guru as I don't deserve it :D Sure, it's quite easy using the interest rate to calculate. Lets say a platform pays 12% interest per year. When investing 1.000€, that should yield 120€/year or 10€/month. If interest is paid monthly and reinvested, then you should even be able to earn a bit more than that.

check minute 02:15 in the video for why I don't invest in single stocks. It's extremely hard to outperform the market as a whole, so I see no reason for trying personally. A lot of much smarter people fail to do that on a regular basis, and I have no time to track every company/stock individually.

that depends on the tax laws of the country you're in. In some countries, where it is classified similarly as gold, you don't pay taxes on profits if the 'holding period' is over 1 year.
@zampieriabramo5 жыл бұрын
Hi Angelo, thanks for the video and transparency. One question: I always thought that with a small capital, or to begin with, it would be more correct to invest in shares that do not give dividends but rather in shares that use all the gain to increase their value and only once in possession of a large capital think about dividends. Is this concept correct in your opinion? Can it also be applied to ETFs which in reality should "limit" themselves to copying the performance of the reference index? Thank you!
@AngeloColomboFi5 жыл бұрын
Hi Abramo, Sure, in many countries it can be more tax-efficient to buy an ETF that automatically reinvests dividends, so that you pay no taxes on them right away. In practice however, I do feel that it can be very motivating to receive some dividends. With the Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF for example, I’m expecting long-term returns of around 7%-8%/year. Around 2,5% of those returns are paid in dividends every year currently and taxed right away. For me it’s worth it, as it motivates me to see that quarterly cash flow grow year after year, no matter what is going on in the market. I’m assuming many others, especially new investors, will feel the same.

Yes, you typically wire the money to a broker via your bank account. In which country/city they ask for a such high deposit to rent an appartement?! I'm shocked!!
@AngeloColomboFi5 жыл бұрын
It's called 'Genossenschaftsanteil' in Austria. It's not quite the same as a deposit, but let me try to explain how it works. The renter (me) participated in the building costs by paying that amount when I moved in. That depreciates by only 1% per year and I get the rest back when I move out. In return, my rent is very low, compared to other apartments in my city. For us, it was 100% worth it.

Thanks a lot! IT-Work, Affiliate & Online Marketing for several projects, selling Merch on Amazon... really depends on the season where I spend most of my time. The high deposit is basically covering part of the money that was used to build the house. After being on the waiting list for 3+ years, our very low rent was definitely worth the high deposit we had to pay (and which we get back if we move out, -1%/year). That alone saves us several thousand Euros/year, so I can’t complain :)

If you study bitcoin Fundamentals, you will quickly see that its true value is somewhere between 100 000-500 000 dollars/bitcoin. Ethereum will have also a major update, the transition to proof of staking which will probably suck all the ethereums from the markets, or at least a lot of it. That will create severe shortages of ethereums, and the price will go to the bubble. I am expecting even bigger bubble, than in 2017. After all, bitcoin and ethereum are Still very tiny in terms of marketcap. Imagine if just 1 % of world's capital will flood into them? A billionaire Tim Draper expects it hitting 250 000 by 2023. Your 20 k in crypto will be worth probably 1 million dollars in a few years, it should be your pride, not your shame.
@AngeloColomboFi5 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the positive outlook on crypto - of course I wouldn’t be unhappy if we get anywhere close to that. I still believe it’s a very speculative investment right now (we don’t know who the crypto winners will be in 10-20 years), but I’m planning to maintain a small allocation long-term.
@veriappelsiini5 жыл бұрын
@@AngeloColomboFi Personally I have embraced these current low prices as gift from higher powers. People buying crypto now are buying literally value for cents per dollar. If you can handle the portfolio with high crypto values (the majority will get temptation to sell when they see their cryptos worth 1-2 millions of dollars), you will become rich. There are 2 options to react to the current cheap prices: 1) The herd mentality (depression, apathy, loss of faith etc) 2) Accumulating more in order to have even more crypto when it is expensive, of you bought higher, then lowering the average purchase price by buying more little by little. Everybody can chose their approach to the current market situation. In fact, bitcoin has ended year only 2-3 times with red yearly candle, the most previous one was in 2018, and then before that 2014. Last year, 2019 ended 100 % profit which outperforms majority of asset classes. This year it probably ends with 200 % higher than 2019 ended and 2021 will be another 2017 type of mania. Mark my words.
@AngeloColomboFi5 жыл бұрын
Sure, you’re free to allocate your money however you see fit! And who knows, you might be right. For me, my current crypto exposure is already a bit high for my own risk tolerance. I’ll check back in regarding your comment at the end of this year ;)
@veriappelsiini5 жыл бұрын
@@AngeloColomboFi Unlike in p2p where you seem to have a lot of money, the risk in crypto is that the holders of last resort will end up becoming filthy rich. The weak hands will be shaken out from the market before though because they are liability (they prevent it rising up by selling their cryptos in early bull market). Bitcoin do not need to be the biggest crypto in order to give outstanding ROI that beats p2p and stock markets. P2p if a platform (I see you investing in Envestio - I wonder if you know what happened to Kuetzal, which was similar platform to Envestio - I would not be surprised even if their owners are the same) goes belly up, you pretty much lose your investment. If bitcoin on the other hand, drops in price, all you need to do is to buy more and waite patiently a few more years and you will be richer than you can even imagine now.
