I think the extended zipper on a leather bag is absolutely necessary - otherwise it would stretch out too much. I bet the canvas ones keep their original zippers. And I never realized how good the bag tags look on these! It really makes a difference I think.

I got out of collecting bags years ago when I passed them to my daughter. I never wore any of them, because I didn’t buy to match my style. You live and learn 🤷🏼‍♀️ Last week we were cruising, and the ship had a WGACA. I had become unwell, and hubby popped into our suite with a like new classic 2017 speedy 30. It was heavenly. And it’s my style. I’m 5’9” 175lb with size 12 feet so the 30 is just perfect. It’s a little slouchy and beautifully neutral. I grabbed some d shackles, a brown guitar strap and a redundant 30 insert and now she’s ready to go as my daily wearer. I don’t plan on adding another, I’m retired now and just need the one. But I love the idea of dressing her up, I’ll check your store 😊 I feel so much more confident and relaxed this time around and am actually using and enjoying my piece. Thanks for helping reinvigorate my passion!

It seems like the longer zipper is a thing with all the bags in that style in leather (LV Speedy and the MCM Boston bag) and the shorter zipper for the canvas or cloth bags for LV and Gucci. Currently, I think the only canvas bag with the longer zipper is the MCM Boston and maybes LV will follow suit. Like you, I think it is a good idea.

I love that your new LV bag has the larger opening, I wish they would switch them all over like that. That’s the one thing that has kept me from buying a speedy, the small opening. It’s hard to get things in and out and see what you need to down in there. Back in the day I had a fake speedy and I can remember the same thing about that opening, just too small. Like I said I hope they start making them all like that now so I can get one.

Fantastic video! I have followed your channel for a while more and it is my go-to source for info on LV products. With the longer/extended zipper, the LV speedy is certainly looking more attractive 😍 to me. My hubby got me the LV crafty lock-it flat slippers as a gift. Initially, I struggled with wearing it with other colors but realized that it works very well with neutrals like black, white, tan, brown or plain colored outfits. So glad I stumbled on your video! I'm super torn on getting the new speedy b 25 DE or to get one pre-loved because of the matte finish leather on the new DE. If I look at your video and that it's been a couple years, my guess is that you got the newer version of the DE which is the matte finish leather on the handles & strap. I read on lots of forums that the matte leather can get water marks from rain, and a LV SA told me to be mindful when using hand lotion before touching the handles/strap. This is definitely not the case with the older shiny DE leather. How does the matte finish holding up on your speedy b nowadays? Do you have to baby it when using it? Is it easy to get some water marks (rain) on the matte handle? I know that rain isn't an issue with the original shiny leather. Curious to know how the matte leather performs! :) Thanks so much!!
