I love the teardrop earrings and the wooden chain earrings. Also the gold chains, I don't think you should waste money on the real gold if you are satisfied with the gold plated or 'fake' gold, who would know???? You are the only person that knows. I bought a few Michael Kors pieces simply because my initials are MK. I purchased bag charms on eBay, rather than pay the price of a bag!! I got them for approx £20 each, years ago, so I just stick them a bag that I am using. Its not for a statement, It is simply because my initials are MK and I feel it is a personal thing (for me anyway). I suppose it would be like having something engraved with your name or initials on it. I just think it is quirky to find items with your own initials on them.

You make some great points! Honestly, I take pretty good care of my jewelry so my plated pieces should last a long time. I do want to invest in some gold eventually, mostly heriloom type pieces to pass down.
