I live close to Forks and I know most of the community was extremely grateful because the tourism saved and created a lot of businesses. I think probably the younger generation was annoyed at the time though. I don't think it's as huge now as it was a few years ago, except on Bella's birthday.

they might find them weird but they dont hate them, and the native americans found an oportunity not only to get attention, but also to educate people about the tribe and their traditional ways, the fandom helped to restore the local economy and they even made tourism spots like a guide for the fans. Just before you get into the Quileute reservation they even made a board which said: ''no vampires allowed'', or something like that

Native Washingtonian here. I went to Forks when SM was promoting New Moon and it was the chillest event I've ever been to. We (maybe 50 total) sat around in a giant park gazebo covering thing with her and like, I think it was her agent and brother? She took questions and read snippets from New Moon. Then we all went over to the library for the book signing. It's hard to believe such a tiny event existed compared to the franchise it is now. 😂 Glad you finally made it to Forks! The tourism stuff looks neat.

so last year I finished the twilight saga and I was reading Eclipse and my English teacher saw what I was reading and shook his head in disappointment. I don't care, I love the crap out of twilight! I've always wanted to visit forks but don't have the time yet, I'm a senior and all my time is occupied by stressing over college, but maybe someday in the near future. What sucks is that I'm the only one in my family that likes twilight and my younger sister refuses to read it! Most of my friends either hate it or act like they do so they won't get hated on and I'm sitting here like "TWILIGHT!!!!!" It's hard being a fan of twilight in this day.... lol.

OMG I went to Oregon with my family this summer! I made them stop at Forks, it was amazing but they just didn't understand when I made them stop at random cafes to take a picture. We also stopped in St. Helens where both Twilight and Halloweentown were filmed- so cool!! Love the video Christinexx

My parents told me that my siblings and I are going to Washington State. They said we were going to Seattle for 2 days and then go camping for like 8 days and then we would make a stop in Forks Washington since I love Twilight so much and my sister and brother just groaned.
