It's been awhile since I've commented on anything! Very nice Euphorbias. I'm going to attempt Euphorbia pachypoides this year. Always wanting to add to my Euphorbia collection. I love your stellata. I lost my small one to a pot being knocked over. I really want to get another one.
@succulentlivingbymarija88725 жыл бұрын
Fish&Cars hi Wade, good to hear from you 😊, I was thinking I didn’t email you for months. I haven’t seen that euphorbia around here. How did your asclepiads do this winter?
@fishcars80785 жыл бұрын
They're holding on. I've lost a few (as I always expect) but most are doing ok at least. Spring should arrive soon. All of the Huernias you gave me are doing well. Seems mostly the stapelias that are struggling. I don't think I've lost but only two Euphorbias. A clandestina and the stellata which just happened to get broken. The clandestina just got very lanky and broke. It just didn't have quite enough light. But overall I'm pretty happy with how they've done! I'll probably expand my Euphorbia collection this year since they've been real troopers for me. Always great to hear from you!
@succulentlivingbymarija88725 жыл бұрын
Fish&Cars I think euphorbias do well for the weather where we live. That’s exciting that you will expand your euphorbia collection! They are really fun to look at and see grow. My asclepiads got tiny bugs, aphids I think 😖. Fortunately no one died from it just they are annoying and have to remove them.

Hi Marija! I think my favorites from your collection are euphorbia knuthii and persistens. I don't have any euphorbias - worried about my kitty and the sap (even though she can't really reach my plants. However, there is a nursery almost an hour away from my house (Logee's) that has tiny euphorbia obesas. I went there after Christmas and bought a titanopsis. I think I might drive back and get the obesa because I've been thinking about it a lot!! Great collection!

Hi, nice collection! I was wondering what you were treating you mealy bugs with. Neem oil destroys euphorbias. Thanks Josh Silver
@succulentlivingbymarija88723 жыл бұрын
70% alcohol. You are correct, some succulents don’t do well with neem oil. My Euphorbias rarely have mealy bugs but when some get them I spray them with alcohol few times in two weeks.

I love your collection, Marija. I have you to thank/blame for my own euphorbia addiction! 😋 By the way, I think that "knuthii" might actually be a "greenwayi". Do you have an Id for the euphorbia at 9:25? I have one and thought it was trigona but I am doubtful since it doesn't really grow leaves when it grows.
@succulentlivingbymarija88726 жыл бұрын
no, i don't but will let you know when i found out
@opuntiad81006 жыл бұрын
So i used to think it was a euphorbia trigona... But the leaves are too small and the branching is too horizontal and not vertical like the trigona. I found one called euphorbia lactea "gigantea" and I think it is this, but there is little info on the Internet. I got mine as an heirloom and the original owner had it for about 20 years, so I think it is a variety that is not common in cultivation currently so that may be the reason it is hard to identify.

Beautiful collection! Thanks for your video. I was wondering on the top of some of your pots in the soil, did you have mosquito bits? Or is it just your succulent mix? And I noticed some of your pots look like they are self-watering pots. Can you tell me if you water from the bottom or top? thanks!
@succulentlivingbymarija88726 жыл бұрын
Amie Croucher no mosquito bits just how my soul is. My pots have bottoms attached kind of like self watering pots but the bottoms are more shallow. I use them as protection from making mess indoors on the wood shelves since succulents have to be inside for 7 months. I water always from the top. 😊 thank you for your questions, comment and for watching!

MaryG Orchids yes, weekly, they are continuing to grow through the winter if they have light, water and warmth
@crazyplantgirldk3876 жыл бұрын
Succulent Living by Marija they really need to rest in the winter which means they should be in a cool place with alot of light and just very little water and no furtilizer all winter through. This will really do them good in the long run, if you don’t respect the nature of the plants then you will end up stressing them. Just a friendly advice from a cactus/succulent lover 🤗
@succulentlivingbymarija88726 жыл бұрын
Mrs. Piotrowsky actually some succulents are winter growers like Crassulas, kalanhoe varieties and some are just opportunistic and they grow through the year. Cacti is winter dormant. Euphorbias are not cactuses. Cactuses need rest. My experience as well as from what I read, euphorbias grow through winter months.
