Great to see you’re not a “knife snob” most people who actually use knives carry kershaws because you use it and if you break it you can buy another one....yes other knives are nice but i personally don’t see the point of buying a $200 knife that cuts just like a $20 knife
@mattalex5434 жыл бұрын
g money you have a great point, a $20 knife will cut just as good as a $200 one. That being said, a more expensive knife will have some advantages over cheaper ones. Mostly, it comes down to coolness and personal preference. It’s like cars, a civic will get you from point a to b just as well as a corvette, but the corvette is arguably cooler and faster.
@GunsandTactics4 жыл бұрын
I try not to be. Maybe when I get a Medford Praetorian then I can judge and look down on the poors 🤣 jk
@914southside4 жыл бұрын
All very valid points but a knife is made for cutting and can break at any point with hard use that being said if I broke a $20 knife I’d buy a new one if I broke a $500 zero tolerance I wouldn’t be so fast to order another lol it’s like having a Glock over a Taurus g3 they both shoot bullets but u buy Glock to say u have a Glock
@Yeahyeah1164 жыл бұрын
Quality is not about “coolness” or being able to say you “have a Glock”. If you really believe this, you’re not getting the point or you’re just a tool. You buy quality because it’s an investment. Sure, cheap knives and cheap guns and cheap clothes are inexpensive, but they’re also cheap. I carry guns that I believe in. I was a LEO for many years and I trusted my life to a gun. Saving a few bucks and giving up a little quality is not good enough when you’re talking about your kids being without a father. Quality is also about supporting companies that stand by their products and not being wasteful. I am currently carrying a Benchmade knife. I expect it to last a lifetime. If it breaks, it has a lifetime warranty, If it gets dull, I send it in and they take it apart, check all the parts, replace what needs replacing, lube it up, sharpen and send it back to me...for free. I have shirts in my closet that cost $85 that are 5 years old and still look good...better than the $35 shirts I bought a year ago. If you want to piss your hard earned money away on junk, support companies that make crappy products and live a throwaway lifestyle, more power to you. Saving up and spending a little more for a lot more quality makes a lot more sense to me
@mattalex5434 жыл бұрын
@@Yeahyeah116 Dude, clam down, no need to throw insults around. All I am saying is that value is in the eye of the beholder, if I want to buy a cool car for the sake of it being a cool car that's my choice. It's the same case for anything like guns, knives, clothes, etc. I have a collection of knives as well as guns, even though I may only need one knife or one gun. I also pointed out "a more expensive knife will have some advantages over cheaper ones", but you seem to have overlooked that point. a Benchmade may be "higher quality" than a cheaper Kershaw, although that's not always the case. I have four Benchmade knives in my collection, two of which had to be taken apart and tweaked out of the box, and one is notorious for having the issue I have with it. I also have an Al Mar Knife that is just as expensive and has issues too. I also have a ton of cheaper knives made in China and Taiwan that have had zero issues out of the box, so the price of something does not always dictate the quality. This is why I included in my comment that "Mostly, it comes down to coolness and personal preference", A Benchmade may be cooler to a certain user than a Kershaw, and visa versa. I understand spending more on something IF it gives you more value for that money if we're talking about the utility, however, the price of something is not a direct correlation to quality in every case. BTW, inferring that a total stranger you know nothing about is a tool is actually being a tool yourself. I didn't insult you or even know you existed before you replied to my comment, what could have possibly justified your hostility?

Fiber front sight on a carry gun?
@GunsandTactics4 жыл бұрын
denbo74 yeah, im sure the interwebs is full of debates between fiber and night sights, but i believe the only advantage tritium has over fibers is being able to see them in complete darkness to which i will say i won’t shoot into the dark or into something/one i have not identified with a light be it weapon light or off hand flash light.
@denbo744 жыл бұрын
GUNS & TACTICS It’s not about visibility. I have pistols with both. Fibers on my IDPA guns and large tritium front sights on my carry pieces. Fibers break and fall out all the time. I particularly looked for a front sight that had more of a shroud to protect the fiber piece. I would never trust that from a carry weapon.
@GunsandTactics4 жыл бұрын
denbo74 ahh yeah fair point. which night sights did you go with for your carry?

GUNS & TACTICS these are my go to. In day time the real is basically black and the front sight is big and bright. My IDPA guns have a solid black 10-8 U north head and their fiber front.
