Five years on and she didn't change the locks? I would've thought that'd be the very first thing she did after the divorce.

True, too often the real reason the woman is asked to quit her job is so the husband has more control over her and / or she has less options if things go bad.

I really like the way the girl character looks. Very pretty, especially her eyes. See, I found something nice to say. Grandma was never mentioned anywhere in the story. I don’t think it is ever 1 single isolated event that changes lives but a series of events combined.

What kind of idiots are Brian and his family seriously you divorced five years and you could think you could just walk into her house and demand that she comes back to be with Brian again. Delusional it’s great that they had such a security system and that her husband is a police officer that was just perfect.

Since Brian still had a key, he wasn't really breaking in. The fact that he still had a key is due to Sophia not asking for it back where they parted, perhaps thinking Brian would leave the key on his way out. So Sophia is partly at fault.

She should have changed the locks right after the divorce was finalized. (Maybe even BEFORE the divorce was finalized.) That way she would have been leaving nothing to chance. That's what I did when I bought my house. It eliminated the possibility of the former owner coming back uninvited and entering for any reason.

So, no grandma to take care of just demanding ex inlaws that want their golden child taken care of to the point they were willing to enter the former wife's home to 'convince' her to return. Even when former wife has remarried. Stupid to not have changed the locks, but stupider still to make the demand.
