That feeling of lightness you described after deciding you never have to go to another meeting again is spot on and recalled what it felt like for me when I made the same decision! I think ex-witnesses have it tough and it can quickly become a nihilistic hellscape if you're not careful, I wish the best for anyone who manages to find their way out.

Benjamin Moreau agree! Hamster wheel ended. My mood changed from regretting to get up to jumping out of bed early on weekend to clean house (yeah, right?) and then take off and have fun or run errands. Always able to relax in the evening whatever was planned. Before, my weekends were anticipated with dread because never enough time to take care of everything. I was up at 5am and didn’t get to sleep past 12am. Monday’s, I always felt sick going back to work and pushing through the week.

From Aotearoa, New Zealand!!! My parents of "Maori Descent" were JW before I was born, 1955. Eldest of Ten Girls and Four Boys!!! Back in those days Maori Men were never allowed to be Elders till I was 13yrs!!! Bethel sent speakers throughout New Zealand forbidding JW Maori from returning to our Tribal families!! From a SPECIAL MEETING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS Elders around New Zealand preached to Us Maori condemning Maori... practices as Satanic?? We are not Satanic!!! I left as Solo mum of three young sons, I have No Regrets leaving!!! Just recently discovered Charles Tase Russell was part of 'Knights Templar?? Freemasons??" Before he died, Russel ordered a pyramid Headstone with etched Crown and a 'Cross Jesus supposedly died on, at the top of Pyramid???

I really enjoyed your Ex JW story. It took guts to just come out and tell your mom and dad. I grew up Pentecostal. My mom was a Local preacher( she is 97 1/2 now, and I'm not telling her about my deconversion journey). My oldest brother became a JW in his 20's after discharging from the military. He's still in it. I hope that somehow, he stumbles into this community of Ex JWs. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I listen to videos as I do house work and I really enjoyed your life story. It's funny how we all have little things we connect with....canker sores! Oh my goodness I had such horrible ones.....Funny how they slowly faded from my life the longer my mind was away from the Witnesses. I'm also a shy one...the only reason I had any friends was because the daughter of an elder studied with me. It's taken me a lot of years to disconnect my mind from them. Listening to others stories really helps. So thank you for taking the time to make a video.

wow our stories are similar - my parents were married in '69 - I was born in '78. I had a friend named Cory from Rochester, NY. my parents were baptized in '74 but somehow survived '75 - it never came up in our upbringing. I attended Pioneer Seminars with Everett Rodericks & his brother (Forgot his brother's name) I was always the one to study with the young girls to the point of baptism too. I too struggled with some "unclean habits" as they were called and fudged my responses to those questions on the Bethel, RBC (LDC) & regular pioneer applications I submitted. I loved the people in the congregation & my family & studying the Bible, but couldn't look back after I learned all of the deceitful teachings and secretive practices. Thanks for your videos - I enjoy listening to you very much!

Fascinating to see it from perspective of one brought up as a JW. I converted was in 40 years but been out 11/2 years now. You don't realise hamster wheel of service to WT you on until you jump off! My daughter didn't take to my religion fortunately so not being shunned by her. None of my family are JWs thank goodness. Ironically I used to think how lovely it would be to have your family in truth with you. But it's a nightmare when you wake up and they still fast asleep so you have to pretend you still on same wavelength to keep your family. Total mind control by WT, GB made it their craft they are good at what they do fooling the masses. It's so enabling to hear you said you wanted to step down after 20 yeas and you never went back. I put in my diss letter after 40 years and never went back. Such a relief. WT runs on FOG agenda. So unchristian.

I love this video. Thanks for sharing your life as a witness and what goes on in your head while you were still in. I found so many similarities in the events of our lives except that I was disfellowshipped and not just faded away. It was my intention to just leave quietly but I guess I was too much of an influence in the congregation that they have to take action and warn others to stay away by announcing it in the congregation. I was the first person I heard that was disfellowshipped for apostasy and that was back in 1983! I have never regretted my decision to leave. Glad that I found your channels and I will be watching out for new videos to come. Thanks!

Wow...I remember back in the day when they would publicly announce a person being disfellowshipped or reproved "but has shown repentance" on the Tuesday night meetings during the announcements after mid meeting after singing our song. I remember being told as a kid not to look at that person or dare talk or even say hi even when they were there sitting at the back of the kingdom hall. I was reproved as a young teen and I was so humiliated and so embarrassed sitting in the middle of the hall with my parents and it was horrible and I finally left when I was 17. Couldn't take it anymore, the stress, the pressure to give talks, hold the microphones, go on field service, get bible studies, do this do that more more more to serve jehovah etc. and I finally snapped and crashed and burned and became the ex jw poster boy as I went crazy and grew my hair long, converted my image as a gothic death rock, punk rock, death metal persona (but I liked that music anyway and I skated as well) and I went crazy for a while but eventually grew up and became responsible etc. I'm now 48 live a humble life, work hard, have a lovely wife, two step-kids which are graduating college soon, we have a cat and 2 german shepard's and enjoy the simple things in life. Wow sorry for the long comment it just feels good to read other comments and keep this going.

"You're never going to get fired from preaching!". Ha! That's what I thought....until recently I heard that you can be reproved and have 'privileges' removed *including going out in the ministry* ! I'm like whaaa? I thought that was the "great commission",a direct order from the boss no one could remove(aside from DF of course)but apparently not! Anyone else heard this, too? The control is getting crazier!

Thank you very much for this wonderful testimonial. The photos made me cry because I felt like I was reliving that time with my family in France in the 80s. Since April 2019, the irrational is no longer part of my life. I absolutely do not regret my choice and for nothing in the world I would return to this "church". All of my chronic inflammations that had been going on for years disappeared 2 months after I left that doomsday cult. Thank you for your inspiring activism and I believe we EXJWs are very fortunate to live in a time that will see the decline of this fundamentalist religion. Again a big thank you to all the EXJW dissidence which becomes stronger and more numerous every year. I embrace you with all my heart.

My decade in Las Vegas led me into the company of architects, engineers and interior designers as a project administrator primarily overseeing document control from concept to archival of some very exciting buildings, structures and complexes. You can hardly drive a mile anywhere in the city and not see something I had my hands on. One architect explained how thrilling it always was to fly in over the city and see so many cranes. I finally concluded that had to be the state bird. I enjoyed the weather and outdoor activities as well. I found it to be stimulating and fun, yet I could always find quiet away from the hustle and bustle. There are a number of ghost towns to explore, and not too far away is the London Bridge in Havasu City. If you do think about checking out a church I recommend Central Christian Church in Henderson. I'm retired now and settled in my old stomping grounds near my children and grandchildren. Never thought twice about going back to the witnesses after I left at 35.

That was an encouraging story. Excellent still shots of the Family. I was born in 62. Met my Wife and Found the "Truth" when I was 19. We were both baptized 2 yrs later. Raised 5 kids. Served as an Elder for over 25 years. Like yourself, I enjoyed giving public talks. In 2007 I remember preparing a talk on God's Creation, and gave it several times in different congregations. Well, 6 years ago I began to question some of the bullet points and it's reference material along with the Science ( Evidence ) behind them. I was actually very dismayed and shocked that I could not find any scientific evidence for what the Society still continues to advocate ; That Earth, Our Home, is a Spinning, Wobbling, Teatering Ball flying through an infinite Vacuum of Space. I stepped down as an Elder, and haven't been to a physical meeting since. Just the odd zoom from time to time. I did sit down with several Elders, once at the Hall and a cpl of times at my Home. Because my "Opinion" on the Nature of Earth is different to that of the Society, I was told my thinking was "Border-Line" Apostasy. This did not sit well with me as we we're always asked to be diligent in our research, to " Make Sure " Be as a Berean !! I could not even find 1 Scriptural Text to support what i was teaching from the platform. It really disturbed me. The only reason why I bring this up is because of your interest in aerospace. Please look at its Evidence & History. May I recommend a book by Eric Dubay " 200 PROOFS Earth is not a Spinning Ball ".? Thanks again for your wonderful story. :: Your Brother, Andy...

Right from the heart, thank you. You are such a keen observer. Since both of your parents converted in their 30’s (?) I wonder how that affected their and your relationships with non-JW family members? Being older, the conversion was hardest on you. And you clearly have a science bent, so it must have been especially painful to suppress or give that up. So glad you found your way back to science. If you like Geology I can personally vouch for that field. Las Vegas may not be the perfect place, but you did right to go west, and it has a feeling of more freedom and opportunity there. I enjoyed listening to your life story. So glad you we able to recognize that you were not in "the truth" and find your way out! My concern is that ex-JW's might throw out the Bible just because some cults have used it in a twisted way. I hope you have met 'real' Christians since coming out-- those who study the whole Bible in it's context and find it to match with reality, who think critically, welcome questions, and can defend their beliefs using Scripture in context, who serve others out of their love for Christ not pressure from a man-made organization, those who can't help but share the joy and peace they have found since having their sins forgiven and beginning a personal relationship with the Savior Jesus of the Bible (not WTs version of created Jesus.) Jesus claimed that He was "the Truth." (John 14:6) Real Christian don't shun others who believe differently. They love and pray for them! I don't know you, but I care, God cares, and I am praying that He reveals Himself to you. ❤️🙏 (His explanation for how we can be made right with Him is explained in the first 11 chapters of Romans.)

Definitely moving away from your “original” congregation or city, town, different language, different culture, sorta gives one “permission” to do some research, to investigate certain beliefs or at the very least it allows us to question our beliefs. It would be interesting to hear a psychiatrist or psychologist speak about this. Why is that moving away from one’s parents (assuming they are JWs and indoctrinated us from birth, moving away from our old congregation, moving away from the group of elders that perhaps we respect deeply, maybe even fear them....that new situation tends to be where many witnesses find themselves finally starting to do some research and begin to look into beliefs or doctrine that we always had doubts about. I know it was so for me and it seems it was also so for other ex JWs and for you also. I think having to learn a new language and having to preach and give talks in that foreign language, adds to the “disconnect” we start to feel towards Watchtower. I think you do a great job doing your videos. No nonsense, no exaggerations, no “inventing” things about The Organization. Watchtower fairytales and lies are bad enough as they are. So, well done by you. That it why I am going to mention this one thing. In one of your videos you say something like...”Puerto Ricans would move to this area in ( I forgot if you were talking about West New York State, Pennsylvania or some other area near bu...) because they knew it was easy to get away being in Welfare and not having to work...” something to that effect. Maybe you would like to walk that back a bit. Also, were you assigned at times, to give the talk for the meeting on the weekst before the Watchtower article study, even though you were not an elder, just a ministerial servants. I think I escaped Watchtower about a decade before you but, when I was still serving The Governing Body, one had to be.an elder to give that talk. It’s very possible that “rule” was changed after I left. It’s not that important, I’m just curious about this. Maybe one of your other subscribers knows for sure. Lastly, sorry, pet peeve of mine...the “brothers and sisters” in the “Spanish Language Congregation” unless they were born in.Spain. Maybe they were Colombian, Cuban, Salvadorian, Puerto Ricans, Argentinian, Mexican, Dominican......which means they were Latin American or Latinos or Hispanic....but not Spanish, unless they were born in the country of Spain. Maybe you did have a couple of Spaniards but unless a person is born in Madrid, or Granada, or somewhere in Galicia, or Cordoba, or Murcia, or Barcelona....they were not Spanish brothers and sisters. Also, for the same reason, it was not Spanish Congregation if they were located in Brooklyn, or Detroit, or Boston, os Chicago, or even in Super Latino Miami. It is a Spanish Language Congregation, even in East LA, Little Havana, or El Barrio in NYC... no matter how much Spanish was spoken. Sorry, I know I am being super picky, most probably as a result of my former Watchtower indoctrination. I am a new subscriber to your videos. I think you do a good job exposing Watchtower. Thank you for your activism. I look forward to more of your videos. If I made a thousand mistakes, my excise is I wrote this at 02:24...or 2:24 am for you civilians. A long time ago I started bible study only to help me understand the bible with JW - what a mistake that was. I basically new more than she did and picked up a lot doctrine errors and the false prophecies to name just a few - not surprisingly she was not interested. I explained to her that I only wanted to discuss and help understand the scriptures better - not follow their books and magazines. I found her rude once I told I was not interested in become a JW after all that I found out about their doctrines and false prophecies (this was prior to internet etc) - library was very helpful. it was our priest who explained the scriptures. I often wonder whether she has woken up - I hope so. She used smack her little baby in the pram just for crying - so cruel. Gad you woke up.

Great story! May I ask what time period was this when you faded away and also when you told your parent on that car ride. I’m just curious? We’re from the same generation, my parents married in 1973 and I was born in 1978 and my brother was born in 1981. I too was a servant at one time. I was tripped up, very stumbled by the generation teaching. My father and I would knock on doors early in the morning, late at night and every weekend, and he would push me by saying don’t worry it’s just a little while longer, til the end because the generation of 1914 is very very old now. Also we studied the revelation a couple times in the 90s and I was pissed to find the WT was a member of the UN as an NGO. There is no way I believed it when my apostate aunt told me. But, the house of cards crumbles fast sometimes. Anyways love your story... congrats too you!!!!! Also I was unsuccessful at taking my life right before I woke up. I’m so glad I woke up have the weight lifted off as you said and now know I can believe in God, and and have faith and it has nothing to do with the WT society....

"STOP, LOOK, LISTEN: Luke 8:17" For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor is there anything carefully hidden that will never become known and never come out. "Really if you are a Baptized person who does not is part of the new covenant that jesus made with his disciples to eat the bread that represents his body and drink the wine that represents his blood, how will there be eternal life? (Luke 22: 19,20). doctrine of men or the word of GOD? " note (john chap 3: 16,17) 16- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who exercises faith in him may not be destroyed, but have everlasting life. 17- For God did not send his Son into the world so that he could judge the world, but so that the world could be saved through him. "Watch (john ch. 6: 53-57) 53- So Jesus said to them: to them with all certainty: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in them. 54- Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I I will be resurrected on the last day, 55- for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink 56. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. Just as the Father, who lives, sent me and I live because of the Father, so also he who feeds on me will live because of me. Concluding this covenant observe (John chapter 14: 6) Jesus said: “I am the path, truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me ". notice what Jesus said: Matthew 23:13 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because they close the kingdom of heaven before men; for you yourself do not enter, nor let those who are on the way in to enter. "look at the Conclusion of Jesus (john chap 10: 09,10) 9- I am the door; everyone who enters through me will be saved, and will enter and he will go out and find pasture. 10- The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they might have life and have it in abundance.

(John 20:31) (Acts 15:11 16:31) (Romans 10:9) ( 1 John 5: 13) all have one thing in common Believe in Jesus and you will be saved and have eternal life. Nowhere does it say where you are saved at. in heaven. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. So to be saved in heaven you need to be baptized Matthew 28:19 ¶Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: John 5: 29 And shall comeforth; theythat have done good, unto the resurrectionof life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Even the wicked after they have paid the price for their own sins will be resurrected but their resurrection will be different than those that were saved and those that are baptized will be different than those that were just saved Verse 29 States that it is Immediately after the tribulation In verse 30 Jesus comes, and 31 gathering all the tribes. So he can call 12000 out of ever tribe In Rev. the Angels are to wait for the 144000 to be sealed before they can release the winds to hurt the earth for the 144000 then they will have this protection during these plagues that will come to the earth after the great tribulation, it has nothing to do with them being the only ones going to Heaven as the JW’s say.
