Novel Synopsis:
Years ago, when I was still a student, I had a serious relationship with Amias, the aloof heartthrob of our school.
Unfortunately, we weren’t lucky enough to end up together. Instead, our story ended miserably, wrapping up in a rush.
Years later, we met again. Amias had long since risen above his humble beginnings, becoming someone truly untouchable.
Our classmates all agreed that I was the one who missed out.
What they didn’t know was that back when we broke up, I had tried to save our relationship. Amias had only pushed me away and told me to get lost.
Now, I’ve finally let go of it all.

I'm with Ruby. How was she supposed to know Amias was waiting for her? He pushed Ruby away and told her to leave. Amias felt guilty about breaking up with Ruby back then, claiming it was something stupid he did when he was young. He said he was young, immature, and couldn't think straight. He never wanted to leave Ruby and thought they would always be together. That sounds like an excuse because he can't accept that Ruby moved on with her life and married someone else. As Ruby said, he said those things out of anger and frustration. A lot of people do that. Say things they don't mean when they're angry. As Philip said, if Amias cared and loved Ruby for so many years, why did he hurt her? Why didn't he go after her? He had plenty of chances and opportunities to go after her and tell her how he felt. He could have apologized and made things right between them. But he never did. Listening to Philip explain how he was always by Ruby's side through the good and the bad, to me sounds like he gave Ruby love that Amais could never give.

He was an A-hole, basically waiting for FL to be in good shape before he takes her back...he didn't want damaged goods, knew it was out for repair and waited for someone else to bear the burden of repair so when he is all ready to take it back, he will look good ('so loyal, waited so long for u') and he wouldn't have to put in any efforts....

I think everyone is being to kind to Amos the moment she was raped he lost interest in her she was damaged goods instead of getting her help and putting both the girl infatuated with him and the rapest in jail they just threw her away. No one stood up for her the school covered it up and the parents only found out after she attempted suicide. No one stopped to think about her everyone was covering there butts she was destroyed. Her parents sent her away to save her and they did but no one was punished. Hell her ex dated the girl who let’s be honest set it all up.

So she was sexually assaulted while worrying, looking for him. But he pushed her away at the time when she needed his support the most. She was already breaking down and he was cruel, very unkind. He made it all about himself. "He was angry." As if he was the victim. Amias acted like men who couldn't accept that their girlfriend was "soiled" and no longer pure. He's disgusting. Not only that, he does not have any boundaries with Ava. He enjoyed her company and attention, stringing her along. Like a reserve or substitute or potential future mistress. How hard is it to tell Ava to stay away from him? He said it to Ruby! So, no, he enabled and indulged Ava. Even if Ruby and Amias got married, Amias would still cheat and Ava would have become the mistress. So, I can understand now. Ruby was right to move on and never look back.

Good story ❤❤❤❤ as someone who has worked once with victims of such terrible experiences, very good tohear about how FL recovered and glad that her family had her back... And no Ex doesn't deserve any sympathy or redemption... Yes his youth and broken backstory is an excuse he can live with, but nothing that'd redeem him in anyways or make him eligible to come before fl... He basically only wanted an FL who could be for him, he couldnt be thr for her...

Like what did amias expect? He hurt her not even apoloziged! When she hurt herself bef graduation did he even visit her at hosp? And he was disgusted when he saw her SA'ed? And he felt sick and told her to get lost!! Surely he didnt think she'll stay there wout meeting a man w out dating someone abroad and just wait for a scumbag who just pushed away when she was hurt? This one was so so good. Another rant so feel free to pass my comment. 😂 I love Philip. I have so much respect for him. A perfect gentleman and so mature. He’s seriously an angel and I’m glad ruby found him, too. She deserved such an incredible love and I’m so glad amias lost her. He could never love her the way Philip does. Everything Philip said to Amias was like the gospel truth and I’m glad he was assertive and not throwing passive aggressive comments that serve no purpose. Even amias couldn’t even say anything cuz in that short conversation, Philip proved with a few words how significantly better he was for her and more capable of taking care of her than the 20 years of history between them. If she got back together with Amias, the incident would be a weapon he could use against her in the future. It will always be a cloud hanging over both of them and she would never be able to heal correctly. Although I can somewhat sympathize with Amias because terrible incidents like this would inevitably affect both partners, words will always carry weight and he could never undo the way it affected her in her most broken moment. It was obvious he blamed her to some extent and that immediately eliminated him from ever being capable to care for her again. And the mere fact he spent those 6 years never knowing what happened to her after the ordeal and never seeking her out and just “waiting” for her was actually solidifying how incompetent he was to contribute to her recovery. He was basically waiting for her to “get over it” and pushed her away cuz he didnt want to blame himself for what happened to her since it was literally his name that lured her out. It’s not his fault but as a bf, why was his gf unable to contact him? He left her alone in her darkest moment of her life. He left her alone to clean up the mess she didn’t even make. He left her alone in her recovery. So Philip is right. He needs to leave her alone for the rest of her life. Honestly, how could anyone stomach being around Ava again after her so-called prank? Even as a complete outsider, I’d stay far far away from her because I wouldn’t want to risk any of her “pranks” to ever put me in such a scary situation. It doesn’t matter if she didn’t “mean it or didn’t know”, it was the consequence of her prank regardless and she took zero responsibility for it. It was also clear she felt no remorse over what happened with her green tea attitude. If Amias could blame the victim for what happened to her, then why didn’t he have any thoughts of blaming Ava for her prank that resulted in a nightmare? Her prank destroyed a bright woman, her family, her relationships, her nearly completed education and all of their reputations. Ava deserved her retribution and something a little more worse imo, but I digress. If amias was truly remorseful for what happened to Ruby, he would never want to be associated with Ava in any form or aspect, even rumors, because it was her prank that irreversibly destroyed the woman he so-called love.

I do not think he cared I mean if after my girlfriend was raped and I dump her she suddenly disappeared I would at least be worried he was like oh well she will find me when she’s ready even though the dude told her she could not be around him. He was such an egotistical butt that he just thought she had no choice. Plus he covered up for his roommate and new squeeze for what they did.
