I stay in the apartments that's about 50 mtrs to the left of your Apartment ... I too love the Sea view ... I dont know why foreigners go to colombo more than chennai ... Chennai has More to offer than any Srilankan tourist destination... The ECR in chennai is the best relaxed place you can find in the whole of south asia ... Well as for that Trash you found in the ocean, there is no doubt that chennai has to do a lot better in managing its waste but you would find all kinds of trash that gets washed away on the shores of ECR which come all the way from Myanmar, thailand , Srilanka ... the problem is much bigger ...

I guess it has more to do with one the cost and the other being Srilankas relentless spending on image building that it indulged in after the horrendous Tamil Genocide the Srilankan fascist regime carried out in 2009. Srilanka is more dependent on tourism for its survival than Tamil Nadu does, if Tamil Nadu wishes to become a major tourist destination it could with so much of rich cultural heritage and history to back it up.

The apartment you are living in, which area is it in Chennai? Is it like an area where many expats live/expat neighborhood?
