Gay bathhouses are supposed to be a safe space for gay men to express their sexual selves and feel liberated without getting judged. I feel bad for the men who were there when you went. Also, 99.9% of bathhouses have a rule that anyone should not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while inside so it's either this story is made up or y'all just disrespectful of the rules and regulations. But I get it bathhouses are not for everyone. 💅

You do know that just being against bathhouses DOES NOT equate to being "homophobic". Hello?! Duh. Wake up. So long as one is against sex venues both gay and straight alike, it is not homophobic. I for instance am for a strong, healthy, & happy gay community. Which is why I'm for lobbying to shut down bathhouses and legislate to regulate hookup apps. 👏 The lessons of HIV, MPOX, Syphilis etc (not to mention how demeaning it is to base someones value solely on looks and body-worship and commodifying everyone as if theyre a product). But now we have same sex marriage, gay book stores and coffee shops instead of just dingy bars. The bright sunshine is out and we have more rights than ever before. Let's not squander all that progress on dangerous, fleeting hookups that only lead to disease....

Bathhouses aren't "safe" places. Danger lurks beneath. Think of the Hundreds of Thousands... who died (grisly painful deaths) - so those businesses could turn a profit. Some bathhouse owners were straight, and couldn't care less at the hundreds of thousands of bodies dropping in just 2 decades. HIV has shown us the clear and present dangers of BOTH bathhouses, and hookup apps. Hookup culture in general. It's not healthy. Nothing morally wrong with it. Perfectly sweet people. Just like alcoholism. Not a moral failure at all. But it is a Health* concern for sure. Mpox is another canary in the coal mine. Let's heed the warning and reduce* the # of partners. For our own health as well as for the wellbeing of our larger glbtq community. Bathhouses & Sex Apps are an extension of Capitalist society that commodifies people. It is not some type of gay culture. Nothing to bring back, but instead learn from and change for the better.

I've been to way to many bathhouses, and have been sober like once...lol. I agree, you should never been blackout stage drunk, but I need a buzz when going in. That liquid courage has lead to so hookups with alot of muscle bound dudes I normally would have never been confident enough to approach. BUT....as a negative, it's also lead to some hookups under normally circumstances I'd be like.....pass!

Not a typical experience of a gay bathhouse. The description is really not to be taken seriously. I think what was said was influenced by the drinks/drugs which were consumed. Why did he need to "slam down" some booze? Could it be self-induced fear and shame? IMO really homophobic. Don't accept this video as true. I hope he gets some help to sort out his experience.
