Man…did this video with your pops bring back some great memories. I grew up going to my second parents and brother from another mothers property up there in Wellston. So many trips in all the seasons…Dublin Store jerky was a staple and the Oak Grove Tavern is one of my favorite watering holes up there. Don’t even get me started on TJs Pub in Manistee! What do you think of the new Dublin Store since the old one burned down and the had to rebuild? While I’m glad it’s back, it’s missing the charm of the old IMO. So many great little ponds around the two tracks out there holding some nice bass. Miss going up there in the summer. Sadly, my second mom up there passed away from cancer and her husband has since sold the property and moved back downstate. Going to miss that area so much. Thanks for sharing this my man! Felt good to be back there, even if it was virtual.👍

Run river planner board and mag hot&tot gold and black you'll just hammer the steelhead up there.. need to change the hooks out to those Lazer sharps or you'll get bunch of hits but low hookup rate . Start up stream slow walk it down. I've had 20 fish days up there.. run it right down to the coffer alot fish stack along the coffer .. by that tree gets really good when the sun gets gets behind the dam . Fish stack up by the dam drop down when the sun goes down it's around 6 pm in the spring. Going to bobber fish it use live wigglers you'll catch bunch of brown trout as well running live wigglers.. need a wiggler bucket goes around your neck

@@ExtremeOutdoorsmen yes less fishing pressure so you can run the board.. I've hooked them in close to when more people are fishing.. you'll hook coho on it below the coffer .. just make sure you switch out those hooks.. run like a 12 lb main line and swivel then 8 or 10 lb leader so you don't lose the board leader will break.. run to heavy of leader plug won't get down enough.. what it does is push the fish down stream to they finally get aggressive and hit it . Sometimes they eat it but mostly just want it to go away why we need to switch out those hooks..

Fishing wigglers most use jigs but we do much better using plan Kahle hook from eagle claw size 8 .. use like 4 to 6 pound leader and bobber .. that inside run is really good above.. I've fished tippy sense the early 80s plus down river in our jet boat is a blast

Love Tippy and the pond above the dam (often overlooked for fishing because below the dam gets so much coverage). The lake above is awesome, we take a yearly trip up there in late spring, an absolutely beautiful area that hasn't had it's shorelines ruined by private homes.

I've fished there numerous times over the last 40 years. I've been skunked and that just happens no matter how much experience you have. You can have a day like that and the next day hook up a dozen times. What's more important is you spent time fishing and driving with family. In my mind you had a great day.
