I am new to the Insta360, but I’m hooked-it's my new favorite toy. The image quality is fantastic, and the build quality is top-notch. The integrated lens covers make it easier to use as an action camera without worrying about damaging the lenses. For video editing, I’ve used the built-in focus tools and keyframes in the desktop program. The focus tools let you steer the video to whatever object you want to highlight, making it quick and effective. I’ve also used keyframes to smoothly move the video from subject to subject. Grabbing snapshots is straightforward-just rotate, zoom to set your frame, and click snapshot. When filming, you don’t need to worry about framing your shot. It’s 360, so in the editor, you're free to grab the best angle and zoom anytime. To further enhance my shooting experience, I paired the Insta360 with mounts and accessories from IdolFoto or Smallrig. allowing me to capture even more dynamic and creative angles while filming.

Could you please share which IdolFoto or Smallrig accessories are compatible with the Insta360 X4?

Thanks for sharing the details of the new X4. I love my X3 for motovlogging. Having the ability to zoom in without sacrificing clarity is awesome. Can’t zoom in with my X3 without the image pixelating. I don’t like using the X3’s Bluetooth to my Sena, or in this case Cardo, headset for motovlogging because the noise cancellation the headsets have are so good, they block out all the ambient sounds like the engine and wind. For me, having those sounds included gives the video a sense of realism. Just the voice isolated sounds more like a voice over recording. I use the DJI mic 2 connected to my X3 wirelessly to capture my voice. I turn the gain down to -6 on the transmitter which diminishes the engine and wind noise but it still can be heard and my voice is clear.

When I first heard of the Insta 360, I thought it was a new Go-Pro Model. There is a youtuber in Europe who grave a great video hardware review. "Off she Goes"

@@AntiParallali I know very little about any of the Go Pros. I know that my Go Pro-2 is easy to use mostly just an on and off button that is easy to use. Then I bought a Go Pro-8. It works. I got the Impression that Models after the 8 have more features that make them more complicated and difficult to operate and edit. I saw an article a couple of years ago saying the Go-Pro was going broke. My first Go Pro-8 was not the Go-Pro-8 Black. The battery was not replicable. I had no idea they made models that don't have replicable batteries. As much as I hate to do business with Amazon, It was easy for me to send that model back and get one with Replace batteries. I have a charger that charges three batteries at one time and I have three batteries for it. I carry a battery pack and I have USB ports on my bikes. I will look for the Video that Off She Goes made on all of her recording Gear. I think she is from Sweden. Lali, We know you are very intelligent and you have your Engineering background. You are good at reading the Instructions and figuring out technical stuff. There is also a German female KZbin Motorcycle Channel that does new bike Reviews and she does a great job of talking about the technical qualities of a Motorcycle. As does Moto Bob and "Big Rock Moto" "Username Kate" is not the one I am trying to think of but she does a nice job too. I can go into the Local Power Sports Dealer and ask a salesman about a model and I know more about it than the salesman does. Simply from online research. I studied the sales brochures in the 1970's and 1980's long before Internet I read the Reviews and specs in Motorcycle Magazines. I didn't want to mention other brands too much in the comments, for all I know you were given the Insta 360 or paid to do an add. Most KZbinrs have a disclaimer if they were given or loaned the product or if they bought it with their own money .

From a X4 owner who uses it as a dashcam, the X4 is overkill and a cheap used X3 is better. The older X3 is actually better for night shots. The X4 is only good for motovloggers who actually NEED the faux 8k for viewers but as a normal everyday user the X3 is more than you need.

"Dutchess - Chaotic Neutral" damn! lol Good review. The zoom ins were good. I had a One R two and when you zoomed in on the 360 footage it just fell apart. Seems like a step up. Personally I prefer editing the footage more on PC, and I thiiiink way back when you could export at even better bit rates on PC than you can on a handheld device, so you might get better quality that way. Don't know if that's still the case. #justicefordutchess

Really curious how you control your camera while riding.... Do you control it with the hand gestures...that would mean you have to keep the thing on all the time? Or do you just turn it on by hand en press the shutter button??
@AntiParallali17 күн бұрын
I turn it on once and after that you can use gesture control to start and stop recording not to turn it on or off. I should have been a bit more clear about that in the video

Yeah definitely zooming out will cause some warping. You can avoid it to some degree if you mount your camera further out from you but then you'd have like a unicorn looking bike lol

Question... for rookies, can simple editing be done in camera? What about settings? Does the instruction manual explain the various settings in a way that a beginner can understand? Thanks!
@AntiParallali19 күн бұрын
There is a quick start guide but no detailed instruction manual. Your best bet is to watch review videos or go on the website and see what resources they link to. You can't edit using the camera but you connect it to your phone and download their app and you can easily reframe and edit clips that way. There is a bit of a learning curve yeah but there are also hundreds of tutorial vids on youtube

Is that a new helmet? Zooming at 4k/100fps u lose resolution?
@AntiParallali18 күн бұрын
Not a new helmet still the Sedici Strada II. At 4k zooming in yeah you'd lose a bit of resolution. You'd probably be around 720p if you zoomed in from 4k while filming in 360.
@mikeskidmore675419 күн бұрын
There is an easy solution to Gesture control. The software needs to be set up so that you put your hand out then you keep pushing your hand towards the Lense until it is close to the Lense then the camara shuts off. Thus it won't be triggered by hands that fly around.
@AntiParallali19 күн бұрын
Yeah that needs some refinement, or some other gesture other than the hand lol
