Thanks for speaking about this. Social anxiety has been a dragon on my mythic journey through life as well. Crippling truly is a fitting word. It's one of the many struggles that are hardly addressed in culture/art/etc, despite being quite common. The more people bring up their struggles they dealt/deal with the less others have to feel they walk an untrodden path alone in fear.

Inspiring and relatable - articulating almost verbatim what I've felt for so many years but unable to express

Duuude, this is soooo me. Took decades to admit it to myself. Though I didnt internalize with self loathing, I kind of arrogantly justified it and propped myself up more and somehow it worked at times. People always think Im social but Im so uncomfortable in bigger groups I'd rather be home. And I do get crippling fear when in front of many trying to do a group presentation. And I also had the irrational fear walking by someone at work. Many times I just tried to rush to take a washroom break so I wouldnt run into anyone because apparently I wasnt sure how to say hi/hello or have little talk. I just talked big ideas all the time. Having said that, it sounds like I was still more functional and can disguise it socially. I think the walking in the hallway thing is now mostly a distant memory. I guess you get older and you care less.

Man, I've identified so much with your history. Since I was 13 I suffered from crippling social anxiety, to the point that I almost didn't go out of my house for fear of talking to people. Until today I have a little of this problem yet (although I improved a lot; I have 23 now). One of the reasons I'm so interested in psychology, and interested in your channel, is that I want to completely cure my problem and cure this problem in other people. It's rare to have real good quality information about this problem, and I would be very delighted to develop a good theory and method to treat it. I admire your courage to talk so openly about this problem. I would like to know more about how you deal with this problem, and if the form you deal with it has relation with the psychological theories you expose in your channel. Also, I would be very delighted if I could contact you in a call.

Same here. "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment" "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string" "What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside you" - Ralph Waldo Emerson ( Self-Reliance)

Man I relate so much to this. There's a British guy named Hamza makes contents about self improvement and he is one of the few content creators who give practical and useful tips on how to be social. He was very isolated and became very social and this gives him the advantage of seeing the world from both sides. I benefited from his content hugely and I bet you will too

Been there for sure. Glad you put together this channel though, you've got a unique ability to communicate super complex and abstract concepts in a very digestible manner.

Respectfully you cannot possibly be anywhere near crippled with social anxiety if you’re on KZbin for the entire world to see. Have some bloody respect for those who are genuinely affected.

I have watched almost all videos on this channel. I always thought u were an Indian bcz only Indians can articulate such complex ideas related to Psychoanalysis in just 10-20 mins. I was right. Really an underrated channel. Deserves more subscribers. Keep going!
