This look so fancy for a web3 games,i know people are being skeptic but i really wish you can really well own the game asset and even if the game were close we can just bring that to other game,while your ordinary usuall game relay on server and once its gone all yours skin cosmetic items and such were gone,beside if you do trade in thoose gacha games in traditional way its illegal,that is why they were likely make you get banned,obviously cheater will be decresead due to nature of blockchain where everyone is a verifier (do some more research if you wanna know about it),was it scam ? Web3 gaming is more so about immutable ownership of in game assets. This will be huge as you'll actually own items in and out of game. The big thing here is freedom to to what you want. Whether that be collect, buy, sell, etc. If done right ( something that most games in web3 struggle with currently ) this could be big!

The real world value of those items is directly tied to the popularity of the game. When the game falls off, say goodbye to the value of your NFT's. It's functionally not much different from any other freemium item shop model. Technically NFT's mean the game devs can't remove your items, but they can still blacklist them from the game. There's no point in making it WEB3 unless the items from this game are able to be used in other games and apps that the devs of this game have no control over. ... but then you have a huge moderation problem, because you can't remove the items. That's nice in a free speech kind of way but less nice in a hate speech type deal. Or someone else uploading your home address on their armor. Or worse.

So the reason why everything you said is right in the past but wrong currently. This has been solved and is being implemented. The main problem faced is games that can compete with AAA title Web2 games. It will never happen if AAA developer companies start making Web3 games themselves. Does Steam allow you to withdraw your funds? For small amounts it's not an issue but it would be nice to have the choice should you sell a rare/valuable item. As mentioned, the web3 side of things will be optional with Shrapnel anyway. No need to get involved if you'd rather just play the game.

You are investing in nothing, and fundamentally the only way to make money off of nothing is by leeching off someone who made the same mistake you did. Someone WILL be left holding the bag. Same with crypto. Maybe blockchain technology could be useful, I don’t know enough about it, but regardless, adding a speculative economy to digital items is predatory and wrong, and that’s inherent to NFTs and the concept for this game. The fact that Myth has to sell you on the game not requiring engagement with the NFT-like aspect screams that it was probably a bad idea in the first place that should’ve been avoided

The fact they are an nft is under the hood and won't affect your gaming experience. Think if it as any other free to play shooter where you have the option to pay to get gear and perks in game.
