A person doesn’t have to like me , but have to respect me . Being respectful, doesn’t cost anything.

Hey, Your video was amazing, and I can only imagine how tough your situation was. I only recently got hired by Starbucks, I've been a full-time barista for 4 months now, and thus far, it's been really tough. This is my first job, So I'm having trouble sticking up for myself and standing my ground. I'm only 18. I'm typically more accustomed to leadership positions, so I've been feeling really out of my nature-given my lack of experience and anxieties. However, I really am not the type to give up. I'm aiming to become a shift supervisor, and I wondered if you could give me some tips. I'm willing to give my all for this job, and if you could offer me any sort of advice, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you! I was the same as you, it's hard fo step up and join leadership when you have anxieties. I struggled a lot and still sometimes struggle with it! My advice would be to partner with someone in leadership you admire, find a mentor that you can schedule time with and have them help you in key areas you'd like to develop. Make a list of what skills you'd like to develop as a leader, learn to communicate effectively if a very strong skills I recommend learning, lead by example too, if you want your employees/partners to respect and see you as a leader you must lead by doing everything by Starbucks or any company your work for standard. Study the standards and make sure you know your stuff! I hope this helps you on your journey! Goodluck and thank you for watching my video! ❤

You are a super sweet person and an intelligent trainer. It would be so nice to have you train me. I hope my trainer is as nice as you but that would be like winning the lottery. 😊
