Both Willow and Mona are so pretty! I had a Russian Dwarf Hamster named Willow and we got her from Petsmart. We had her for maybe 6 months, she was kinda mean to everyone and always bit us every time we went to touch her (probably because we woke her up) and so she was kind of neglected. We also had two cats who would jump on top of the cage and watch her through the mesh (we also had a huge bin for her), so I'd imagine she lived a stressful life. No one in our house had ever taken care of small animals before, my parents grew up with only cats and dogs, so it was pretty easy to forget about her sadly.

i have never owned a hamster but i have owned 5 mice, my first three were named biscuit, pippa, and marie and they were such amazing, and special girls ❤️ i loved having a little sorority! they lived in a huge bin cage with enrichment-galore, and i think my favorite part about having them was watching them explore their freshly cleaned and reorganized cage. it’s very hard for me to see pets like hamsters and mice marketed as beginner pets when in reality, they require so much more than a critter trail and an inch of bedding. i’m so grateful that i did the research for my girls to make sure they lived their life happy! its great that you did too, looks like willow is living a great life! i really enjoyed this video, it was very entertaining 😊 keep up the great work.

i wholeheartedly agree! pets like these shouldn't be viewed as "beginner pets" just because they're small, they deserve a fulfilling, enjoyable life just like any other animal. i've been enjoying your content for a little while now, and i have to admit i was a little surprised (in a good way) when i saw you commented! thank you so much for the feedback ❤

See a part of me would love to own hamsters but I also know they have such a short lifespan that I’m not sure I’d be able to handle it once they pass:(

their short lifespans are definitely something that can be really difficult to come to terms with :( the way i see it though, it's such an amazing opportunity to be able to make the short amount of time they have on this earth as good as possible❤

I remember a few years ago I really, like really, wanted a hamster. But i already had a cat, and my dad’s rule was one pet per person in our family. I have three younger brothers and so, my dad was planning on getting a hamster for one of my brothers even though my brother wasn’t even interested in hamsters and I was the one really wanted one. So I planned for the hamster, day dreamed about the hamster, figured out all the supplies we needed, daydreamed even more, and watched lots of videos on hamsters. And so when we got the hamster I soon found out I couldn’t do much with it, since it was my brothers pet. The hamster lived a very short life, since we got it when it was almost two already. Then when it pasted we got another hamster, which we still have. She’s my brother’s hamster but I love her as if she were my own. I spend more time with her than my brother does too. Sorry that this comment is so long lol.

I had a hamster his name was Oliver and the day we go him I was with my grandma so my mom and dad took him while I was with my grandma then I got home I get everything set up for him and everything I played with him a bunch he was such a amazing hamster and I had 4 dogs at the time and one day..I walk into the living room to see my husky have something in its mouth…and I was like oh she probably got a rat or something from outside so then I tell her to drop it and it was my hamster….i miss him so much rest in peace Oliver…..🩷🩷 (sorry for the long story)
