I lived in VA for 25 years before I relocated back home to SC. I’ve always told people about that slavery dark cloud hanging over VA but people used to laugh at me or look at me crazy. That aura is crazy and unexplainable at the same time.

Sometimes people have to come in from the outside looking in to see the value. Teddy came down with a fresh perspective and made it into that destination music town. I think it wasn't maintained because everyone didn't stay in town with their success. Missy & Tim went upstate to Rochester & Jersey. Neptunes & Tim had their studios in town for a while, but if people had to keep coming to VA to see them instead of Miami, as well as Bink & Nottz, D'Angelo, Skillz, ... maybe Chris Brown & Trey would have came there first. If Lex Luger gave his trap sound to the dope boys in VA, maybe they would've had some of the steam that 808 Mafia fueled for Atlanta.

Ok lemme say i love the show..this was probably the best episode i’ve watched..Bink’s insight and knowledge is that of a father of the village..i’m so GLAD he put that “PAUSE” bullshit in its proper perspective..grown,straight men aint thinking about a penis when we say certain things..it might be fun amongst friends but it has completely gotten out of hand..these dudes eating hotdogs with forks out here..p.s. the only thing that made this interview not perfect is the audio is COMPLETELY horrible..sounds like it was recorded on a phone mic 😢😂

Man, I dont know. Respectfully, Bink has made some legendary beats, but without mind reading, its impossible to steal someone's sound, only do an interpretation. You can give two producers the same sample and they will create two completely different beats. I hate to say it, but its been 20+ years and Bink still sounds upset that Just made some beats that had tom fills and drum rolls but was more successful at it. And if we're keeping it all the way funky, all those Rocafella producers were highkey making all the same kinds of beats, even into the State Property era, so it wasn't only Just and Kanye making beats in that style.
