I love travelling with my husband but there’s nothing quite as liberating or contemplative as travelling alone. You also gain a lot of confidence in only having yourself to consult with, and also only yourself to please. This video sums it up exactly, thanks Oskar!!

This was just lovely. Not only is it a always a treat to see your handsome self smiling somewhere you love but I also think this is the polar opposite of a cliché Japan video, which you can comfortably do now because you've done all the must see and must do stuff before. So interesting to hear your thoughts on trying something so different for you, but at the same time so cute still to witness the connection you can't help but have with your man all those miles apart. You really come across as a rare genuine person. Can't wait for the rest of the video and wish you two the best. ❤️

Love the energy of this video. I basically travel alone. The times I have traveled with others I felt disconnected from the places I visited because of the energy it takes to interact with the people I was traveling with.

Having seen from your IG stories how scared you were that you will be travelling alone, you have done an amazing job! What a turn around of emotions this solo one with you brought Dan ‼️ I was 💔 to hear you tell of loosing your confidence/enjoyment in being/travelling alone, to such joy to see the light bulb moment when you found again that being alone can bring you happiness and fill your soul too🥰‼️Cannot wait to see the last part of this Japan journey you're taking. I hope this newly rediscovered ability has planted a seed that continues to grow the joy in you it managed to do in these 27minutes ☺️☺️

Oskar, it can initially be daunting when you find yourself alone, especially if you are in new unfamiliar surroundings. I think this is my favorite video yet. You have shown us a vulnerability that for some reason I relate to deeply. I love how open you are when sharing your solo experiences with us. Your awe and delight in what you were seeing is contagious. Mt Fuji was amazing. Thank you for being open, vulnerable and utterly charming. Oskar, I am enchanted by sharing your trip. I felt your emotions, nerves and all, joy in seeing and growing. Thank you for this wonderful film💕

As Dan mentioned, it is good for couples to spend time alone. Japan is VERY high on my travel list. You are making me thinking of hiring a car while visiting there maybe. Being from the UK the actual driving is not an issue but not being able to read the road signs is a worry. Wishing you both separate great trips and looking forward to the next vlog. Cheers
@interactionsfortes6 ай бұрын
Don't worry about the road signs, on the main roads they are written also in roman alphabet. Plus google maps works now perfectly even in the most remote area (provided you have an internet connexion). The one major rule to remember is a zero (literally) alcohol policy when driving.

Thank you for uploading the video! It has driven me to solo travel to Japan. I moved from Japan to Canada about 10 years ago. I have wanted to travel to Japan to see my mom for years, but my budget did not allow me to do that. My mom living alone turned 70 years old last December. I am hoping to visit her before her turning 71 (hoping to solo travel in August). Your video made me decide to do that! Thank you again for empowering me. Looking forward to Part 2!

Oskar, Thank you! Wow! One of my absolute favorite travel videos. Felt I was getting to know you so much better and the places at the same time. I've started to travel alone because my husband no longer wants to travel. Go figure. Question: To what extent does doing the video structure your trip and affect or change the experience of travelling solo? You are by yourself physically, but are your heart and mind outside yourself imagining the point of view of your audience, our questions, our needs? Does filming detract from your experience? Organize it? Add meaning? Save you from feeling lonely?
@OskarandDan6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much❤️ That's a great question - I did my best to view this as documenting the trip for myself, not for a wider audience, so it wouldn't remove me from the present🙏🏼
@abrahamclott56046 ай бұрын
@OskarandDan interesting. When I travelled alone, I had my phone with me and purposefully used it to bring a circle of friends into the trip with me by sending texts and photos. And I spoke by phone with my husband at least twice a day. So while I had good stretches of purposeful and chosen solitude, I also felt connected. Travelling with a phone for GPS, instant access to resources, and connectivity is a completely different experience from travelling without.

It's beautiful to hear the other side of this. I am alone most of my days. When I started solo traveling at the age of 19 it gave me such a confidence boost because I was able to take care of things all on my own and I could make decisions for myself without having to answer to anyone. I'm glad you guys have each other to depend on during your travels and I'm also glad I found your channel, you two are wonderful souls
