Get your self a detroit locker for the 9 inch rear and then do an econo build from scat and stroke the 320 to 331 which is my favorite because they wind up so fast. You could get their cast crank and rods with hypers pretty reasonable. Balance the engine which is a must. Port your heads or go cheap after market to better flow etc.

Your doing pretty good with your truck. I think the easiest thing to do to gain the traction you need is a spool or at least a mini spool. Over all cost is pretty cheap, just need to find an extra 9 inch drop out and use your 4.10's or go lower with a 4.56. You probably have an extra. That will help make it up with your 302. Keep it up, your finding out what works with your truck.

I have a 72 Ford f100 short bed has a 302 in it was my grandpas truck has 52k original miles on it. I cant decide what I want to do with it..I am thinking a crown vic swap. It's been in Az all its life so zero rust..perfectly straight body zero dents just a nice "rusty patina"

I loved the white letters. May not be your thing? But in case it is and you could not find them in the brand you chose, I’ve heard whispers of people painting them on, some said the paint worked well and some did not care for it. Just tossing the idea out, but I’m definitely not saying you HAVE to. It does look great as-is!

he needs a bottom end refresh like bearings and an oil pump first off. i'd just dump the 302 and get a roller 351W, stronger bottom end and more potential.

You can tell that 275 is way to tall in the front you should of went with a 255/60 the fronts are way taller than the rear

If you want it to get off the line in decent fashion, you need a drag radial. They will bite better. Trying to do burnouts at the strip on street tires, you're just eating up your tires for nothing. You're not going to gain anything. Do some research and you will find it out for yourself. Heating up a street tire will do the opposite. It makes them less sticky. More apt to spin and not bite off the line. A drag radial is a different compound. Heating them up will make them more sticky. But be ready, things upstream are not gonna like it. Things will break. Clutches will burn out. Drag racing ain't cheap if you want to win. Skip the burn out on those tires. You will get off the line much better.

I'm glad you went with the tire width you did - I ran the same on my old 66 slick way back in the day and it was perfect. (*still sucks a bit with manual steering and 275's tbh.) - Question though, why the 60 series in the front? Did they not have a 275 50 (or 55) option? It looks good, but I think it'd look tits with a slightly shorter sidewall on the front.. to also help keep things visually symmetrical with the rear and even less of a reverse rake look..

Interesting story, my dad flipped mine twice (was his at the time) first time it was white, after insurance replaced the cab etc it was painted a springtime yellow (same green interior that you have) anyway, loved the tinted windows. I’m building a 5.0 currently out of a 00 explorer to swap into a 99 ranger. You said your motor was making barely 200, my advice for cheap power would be a set of p heads (explorer) with a set of 1.7 roller rockers and better springs to handle the extra lift from the rockers, as well as being able to rev out much higher. (In my case I’m looking for 6500rpm until I get a better set of heads) Look up which spring you want to use because the p heads have an exhaust valve rotator that requires either a specific spring set or a bit of work to fit your preferred choice. Should be a total of say 500-600 bucks, depending on the cost of the heads themselves and the machining you do, and you’ll have the best stockers ford ever made for the 302. Idk what headers you’re running but anything less than long tubes on a 302 is pretty worthless. However paired with p heads, LT will net 15hp/tq alone. Again, not sure on your cam, but with a comp cam or letter cam with the above combo and your choice of intake and carb you should make in the ball park of 350hp or more. Bout 1-2k in parts and you’ll nearly double your hp and should put you in the 12s in the 1/4 mile 👍 just make sure your bottom end has enough clearance

my 2 cents is if you go to low on air the rim will spin inside the tire. also note Tires need a break in ? incase you didn't know. live and learn , keep notes!

I think a yellow stripe around the bolt circle dip would break up the black a little more and show the depth of the offset on the wheel, those Coopers look killer on it with just enough meat to fill the fenders but not still not 4X4ish
