Shouldnt be a big change! just a refreshing one. anecdotally, i can tell you the fat grafting under my eyes sits so much better than the filler especially when i smile.

What percentage of fat would you say you retained? And when did the fat absorption process fully stop for you?
@TaiBrows
@TaiBrows 2 ай бұрын
Id say retained about 65-50% volume in the first year, now Im two years out, closer to 30-40% and i was ready for another treatment of some sort but juuuust minor tweaks... i just made an update video on another autologous treatment i got to replace volume in my under eyes! check it out, its called PRF EZ Gel, you can see my healed results before the treatment which reflect my fat transfer volume loss to judge for yourself! I will still def be doing another fat transfer probably in conjunction with a mid face or temporal face lift years down the road. Easily my favorite all around volume loss surgery. Im still filler free!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5WWqaVvfpaghbc&ab_channel=KiraTai

@@TaiBrows I just had another fat graft after a few years 10 days ago. Is there a way I can message you with some personal questions about the fat graft? Do you have an instagram? If not, I can just ask here. Couple questions: -did you have fat injected in your lateral cheek? or just mid cheek and tear trough? -from everything ive read (and personal experience), after 8-9 weeks you no longer lose fat. The result is permanent. You would only lose native facial fat, but any injected fat should remain forever. Its odd that you lost volume over 1 year (not 3 months) and then over 2 years lost more... -when did swelling go away for you? I hope I only lose a little bit of fat, as Im really loving the results (though I do have major swelling in an area he didnt inject fat in oddly enough)

Hi! When did you start to notice the fat plumping? I was told that the transferred fat goes dormant, then it starts to “wake up” & “plump” once it gets its new blood supply around the 4 month mark and you continue to see results until month 9. Is that what happened w you?
@TaiBrows

interesting! So my dr did not use a local anaesthetic i think for this reason, the cells have a better chance of survival because there is no vasoconstrictor like epinephrine. that being said there probably was a delay for the full vasculartity. I remeber feeling disspaointed my results were going down at month 3 but then a year out i looked incredible and my eyes were the most awake! Its something to consider for sure!

@@TaiBrows Ty for your reply!! So after the initial disappointment at month 3, now looking back after a year, you can see that you ended up with nice results despite the 3 month mark decline in results? I’m on month 4, and I’m stating to see a difference. But my dr told me that I will see the biggest difference at month 6 and month 9, then month 12. So I have to be patient. I got really discouraged at month 3 & 4 because the plump was going away but I was told that was just my swelling going down. Then my face will be flat until the fat gets proper blood supply.

yes! i can definietly say that aligns with my own expereience even though i wasnt explicitly told that! i really hope you start to see improvement! keep me in the loop, I wonder if your doctor uses a similiar method of transfer. it was always the biggest risk with this procedure that i would loose it due to my activity levels... which is better than the possibiliity of a bothced result? but i was encouraged to get a touch up in a few years. which is still better than filler.. im also scouting out another doctor in WA that has a very interesting purification process of the fat supposedly to get more stem cells.... i love asking these questions to my doctors to get to know them and gain understanding , some doctors can be really innovative with their practice@@LittleBits0fIce

@@TaiBrows your activity levels meaning working out? I was told the same because I have a high metabolism. So I didn’t workout for 3 months. When I started to workout, I took “carbo weight gainer” before my workouts. So my body wouldn’t eat up my fat while working out. It helped me maintain my weight and actually gain some weight. I also haven’t used the sauna despite being cleared to do so. I know everyone’s body responds to the procedure differently and I know my body enough to know that if I workout like before, I’d have a high risk of losing results. My dr filled in my smile lines, my under lines, fixed my 11 lines, filled in my cheeks, align my chin w my own fat and he even fixed the bump on my nose using my own fine. So everything looks proportionate. I’m looking forward to seeing my results at the one year mark.

@@TaiBrows A touch up is definitely better than filler. I 100% agree. Did you see a decline in your lips after a few months? If I’m not mistaken, your dr put fat in them? I wish I would have done mine but there’s always next time. I don’t want filler in them. My friend went to my dr for her face lift. She also got fat grafting in her face and used her fat in her lips. They’re a little more filled in from a year ago.

My surgeon did not recommend a local, but you have doctors with varying opinions on this, its very interesting!! Ask them more questions and find what you are comfortable with! I like to create my own understanding and not be convinced of anything. I work in aesthetics myself, and there are lots of problems that topical anesthetics create with blood flow, so Dr. Motykies theory made a lot of sense to me

Hi Kira! Your explanation of this is the best I could find here 🙏🏼 Two questions: did you wear a tightening face mask during the healing? And, how about sleeping? Do you need to sleep upright or flat on your back, not pressing down on your left or right side during the night? I can not find anything about this on the internet. Again: great explanation and kudos to you for making this choice, it is your face and you decide! ❤

Hello! thank you so much! these are great questions! i slept upright until my skin was healed probably about 5 days into it , almost like microneedling, it wasnt too cumbersome. I did not wear a mask, but i was provided with dr.Morykies "Stellar" skin care line and it was super luxurious and probably expedited my results!

@TaiBrows
@TaiBrows Жыл бұрын
I did!! its definetly a risk, but for my own sanity i need to work out. I did this with my PMU too and understood i would likely get softer retention. but it can also increase blood flow which is good for the vasularity of the newly transplanted fat... I shouldnt advocate for it, but i can only be honest with my personal expereince. i worked out and primarily did low impact physical therapy. for me knee injury I was working on, (unrelated to this) I swear by this program by Athletic Truth Group called ROKP (reverse out knee pain) which involves some backwards walking at an incline, and other calf raises and single leg patrick steps ect...

Wonderful results! Thank you so much for sharing, your skin looks amazing. I'm also looking for fat grafting into the forehead, I did jaw surgery and did fat under eyes and cheekbones but he did not want to venture into the forehead lol so hopefully in the future I can find someone who will! My forehead is my weirdest problem area!! i want it treated again, but basically no one else will do it too :( i think it risks blindness? which, so does rhino filler. Dr. Motykie said this is best with fat transfer but not prf or filler. Im sad. i cant just go pay 5k for my forehead lol

15:47 Fat transfer is supposed to be permanent. Why would you go back in 3 - 5 years to do the same procedure again?

It's permanent in the sense that you can't dissolve the fat the way you can dissolve filler, but you will still experience volume loss with aging

Hi Kira! How are your results holding up? 2 other questions- Did you do your consultation remotely or in person (I know you are out of state). And, once you decided you wanted to book, how far out does Dr Motykie book out? Like 6 months? Wondering how far in advance I should plan a consult if I don't think I would get this for another year.. Thanks for all the info!
@TaiBrows
@TaiBrows Жыл бұрын
I think very well! I may be looking for another go at it in a couple of years, but my under eyes are the BIGGEST improvement and holding up! so im not desperate the way i was pre procedure. I got my first consult online by sending in pictures and talking on the phone, then before surgery i had my in person. its quit a leap! if i could have done an in person sooner, i would have but traveling was harder and risker in 2021! luckily these things have calmed down a lot and i think for more invasive procedures (like im already planning my first facelift for 40) ill be going more out of my way to meet my doctor and need more assurance. facial fat grafting i would day is very minimal in terms of plastics
