Hi great videos !!!... Question for you...I got the same connectors in the video...1. how would you run with batteries in series ? With 2 leads from esc ? Can you just put one battery into a lead then the second battery with the splitter (from video) and cap pack ?? Or do you need to do 2 battery into 1 with splitter.. then cap pack splitter / jumper into the second one ? ....2. for the second option can you use the cap pack as a "jumper" for the second lead for a single battery setup ? Or do you need the connector / cap pack into one lead then a jumper in the second lead ??? or cap pack and battery with splitter in one lead and then jumper in second lead ??? Sorry for the long question ! Thanks ☺️

Hi Richie, I just subscribed. I really love the passion and enthusiasm you put in this hobby, that's why I like all of your videos. By the way, I can't believe that cap pack made that huge difference. Theory states that cap packs don't give any boost in performances, but they just fix the ripple voltage, helping the esc to work steady and preventing it from getting stressed out and eventually damaged. So I believe that probably most of that additional power came out from your batteries, reaching the perfect working conditions and temperatures. The huge capacitors helped out achieving the top of performance of your car, but not boosting it in that crazy way. +16mph?... Tell the truth, you installed a KERS.😜 Anyway, thumbs up, at the end it is the result that counts.👍

@HBFTimmahh3 жыл бұрын
@@DriftomaniacsRC Aye. The resistance added of the connectors may not be much at all. Obviously the CapPack helped for sure, And if you didn't see any added heat or too much heat, then the added resistance of the connectors is minimal. but like a bad cold solder joint, a bad connector can be problematic. That said, many do use a y cable, to run them between teh battery and ESCs. So much does depend on use. I know the drag guys wire everything direct to minimize all the resistance they can to pump every last amp out of their setups and cappacks. Just an FYI more than anything that any connector adds a bit of resistance, unless there is a bad connection/cold solder joint, then there is A LOt of it. heh. Great Runs!

Hey bud! Great info! I am going to order one of this thanks to this video, just to be clear you are running the 160 A esc right? So it's not the 150 A that comes with the felony originally? I get cut outs when I'm on full throttle for a couple of seconds, I was reading some forums people saying it's the esc actually maxing out on current because of the wind pushing back on the car at those speeds. Just curious, the cut outs happen randomly but almost every time after a few runs
@DriftomaniacsRC3 жыл бұрын
They sent me a 160a esc as they had no 150a ones in when mine failed after 10 days but it’s not a huge amount better and I’d say to anyone thinking of upgrading to get an xlx2 instead. I had two infraction v1’s and both of the esc failed within the first week on the stock pinions you would have thought horizon would have looked at the issue and put a 200a one in. Must be costing them a fortune in warranty issues!

When 98mph just isn’t enough. How much does that thing cost for a extra 16mph? You should run it on a 2s basher and see what it does.
@DriftomaniacsRC3 жыл бұрын
Man I was surprised it hit 98 the first time about 2 months back but then it did it again and again. For the extra 16mph it’s a bargain as on the big money faster stuff the cost per mph of speed increase gets excessive. I spend stupid $s at times but this provided you hit the throttle at the right time is insane, nail I right and it’s pulling harder than off the line. That said at the minute I’m having a blast with the low cost 124019 x3! The cap pack is a bargain vs new esc or lipo. Would you like to see one as a giveaway prize? I do value all input

You're doing yourself a disservice by not soldering it in. I put one in my Arrma Senton a couple months ago like this, then I actually soldered it in, it was like I hadn't even connected it before that. With a connector I could charge the pack, take the battery off, and power the car for 2-3 seconds. With it soldered in it only powers the car a fraction of a second. The resistance of the IC5 connector delayed the power delivery of the capacitor pack by at least an order of magnitude compared to silver solder.

Man I love these powerful RC cars and I love pushing the limits of what these things can do, BUT, if they hit you or ANYTHING for that matter, at even “moderate” speed, there will be damage. What is moderate speed? I’d say maybe 20-30mph? Stay with me though. I am a father of three, 20, 14, 9, and animal lover. I love to do crazy things, and i put a lot of thought into the consequences of mistakes before doing anything remotely dangerous, which is yet another definition which could be in the eye of the beholder. Is something that could scar your skin deeply and permanently or break bones or worse at even less than half the speed these things are capable of dangerous? Quite frankly, I possess the scars and the damage to prove it. But I just dealt with my ankle feeling like it got broken but it was not and my skin from ankle bone several inches up my shin was shredded like chopped hamburger. Repeated gaffers tape wraps finally stopped that mess while I fixed the body on my Rally VXL 1/10, checked the bushings, and raged on. Things are not humans or pets, as such, but in this video and some others I did notice what appeared to be a child in the background near the center of that parking lot. At first I thought, “oh, cool, his kid is there absorbing the technology that will power all future vehicles and was smiling and though the child was using that little structure as a blocker and was keeping that between the car and the child. Wrong. I’ll just say it. I can drive and handle my RC (and real) car at least as well as the next guy, likely much better,but RC cars have a dynamic we can’t just FEEL by being on-board. You can observe and prepare and tune (those sway bars on my Rally were game changers!) and practice and raise hell all you want, and mine only did upwards of 60mph, but things happen, and happen often. Seriously, how long have any of us gone with pure driving fun without having to do another repair to something you thought you had reinforced and improved such that you never need to repair it again, only to be right there messing with it again? Four, five, six runs of a battery? If you said you went ten full on runs without damage requiring repair before you could run it again I’d say you were embellishing. Anyway, shit happens and when you least expect it. I once hit a kid on a skateboard who had come out of a parking lot with some trucks blocking him from being seen by me. I’ve got the car flying down the street, maybe 35-40mph, in a not buys area of town, and bam! He didn’t see a full sized vehicle coming and I didn’t see him. It knocked the skateboard out from under him. He was alright and luckily he was fine and wasn’t upset. That could have been a life changer. Sorry but I was lucky that day. So fast forward, lesson learned, open grass lot surrounded by pine trees, lots of pine straw on the ground, pine combs, some cleared areas, rally stage beaut, zero chance of any traffic or anyone else surprising me. And my son 6 years of age wanted to see, so I held him up my arms. The car was running strong, huge roster tails in the sandy spots, pine straw flying, drifting sideways across maybe a 50’ arc, just loving it, and also it was going left and right across in front of me AND I had a smaller tree to my left. Drive the car out to the far right end and was shooting for top speed across the grass and dirt, where in the middle there was a slight rise and it was getting a little air but only with top speed. So I’ve got it coming back across from right to left, and tried maybe five or eight times to hit that little rise just right. On one run back across the car got a little sideways, and by the straw flying I thought I knew where it was, as I could see well when it was beige a little one foot berm of an old defunct flower bed. I was wrong. It came over that bed at like 35-40, sideways, in the air, headed straight towards me. But it landed square and I corrected it back to its right, which was out in front of me, but it wasn’t, and I really thought it was gonna just shoot us with dirt and go by sideways about 10 feet in front of us. While it was still maybe 30-50 feet away, which is hard to judge while it’s flying towards you, I let off throttle and tapped reverse to stop it from hitting me, and I stepped forward to get out of its way. It was on a trajectory I couldn’t evade and it hit me upside down and backward with the roof spoiler slicing part of my skin as it flexed, and the side of the car hitting my right ankle so hard I was sure it was broken. I’ve played plenty of soccer and have accidentally brokenness another players ankle who obviously never drank milk so I know how easily they can break, and then also being hardcore into BMX street and freestyle and half pipe riding , I’ve been hurt plenty. It wasn’t broken and my son was safe in my arms, and it looked like a cheese grater took samples from my side shin and calf area. All good. No biggie. An accident I though would never happen, cause I’m generally in control of those things, and it happened to ME. Thank god I’m basically indestructible. Other people, especially kids, and also dogs, might not be so lucky. I’m not saying it could kill a kid, and I’m not saying be alarmist, I’m saying why take the chance at hitting a kid and breaking a bone, cutting them, badly, and at 60, 90, 120mph, the potential for those things isn’t just real but probable. My car was going maybe 30 realistically. It’s top speed was over 55. At BEST it was going 40, but unlikely. And it hurt like hell and I still have the scar four years later. I’m fine. Why take the risk or sending your child to the ER, heaven forbid it be another persons kid and in these litigious United States people sue like they are breathing. Raise almighty hell. Take care of those who could be innocent victims of your fun.
